That night when Quintus got home his parents greeted him with a smile.
"Quintus! Your grades are exceptional and your father and i are selling half of the farm so we can afford to send you to a school for smart boys in Rome." said Scintilla, Quintus' mother.

The next day Flaccus and Quintus prepared for the long journey to Rome. By midday they were ready to go, and so they set off down the long dusty road on foot.

That night they set up camp in a thicket in the woods. But Flaccus heard rustling in the bushes and pulled Quintus away from the fire.

Three large wolves emerged from the brush and ripped open the Packs that had some food in them. But Quintus grabbed a stick, stuck it in the fire, and jabbed it at the wolves causing them to run away.

"Smart thinking my boy." said Flaccus.

Then they fell asleep to get rest for the remainder of their journey to Rome.
