Dean Clarke
Talia was fast asleep in my arms as I laid there watching her sleep. Just knowing that she was going to keep our baby, made me want to go harder in life; just so I could provide for the both of them.
Placing my hands on her flat stomach, I slowly rubbed it in circles, placing soft kisses on Talia's forehead.
"You know it's a girl right?" She said, opening her eyes.
"You think so?"
"I know so." She smirked. In all honesty, I hope she was right. I know most guys want their first child to be a boy, but not me. I've always wanted a little princess that I could spoil.
"I hope you're right." I chuckled. "And I hope she looks just like you."
"She will." We both laughed as she sat up and climbed out of bed, walking into the bathroom. "So I saw my dad today."
"Oh yeah? How'd that go?" I asked.
"It went great. At first, I was so nervous and scared because I hadn't seen him in thirteen years, but when he came into the visitation room...I just got filled with so many emotions."
"I'm glad you got to reconnect with him after all these years." I told her. Checking the time, it was after six and I had told Jude that we were going to meet up so we could go after Sam. "Baby, I gotta go."
"What? Why?" She asked, coming out of the bathroom.
"I gotta go handle some things with Jude, but I'll be back."
"What y'all got going on?"
"Nothing, we-"
"I wish you would lie to me, Dean Anthony Clarke!" She spat, cutting me off.
"How do you know my middle name?" I asked, furrowing my eyebrows. I never told her my middle name, nor has she told me hers.
"I saw it on your drivers license."
"When did you-"
"Let's not stray from the conversation, Dean! What do you and Jude got going on?" She asked, cutting me off once again. This girl was going to be the death of me, I swear. I sighed heavily, forcing myself to tell her the truth.
"Jude found out where Sam is hiding and we're going to get his ass."
"Seriously? Why didn't you just say so? Let me get dressed."
"For what? You're not going."
"Who aint? That man shot me and I want my revenge!" She said, crossing her arms.
"That's exactly why you aren't going! It's too dangerous and I don't want anything happening to you or the baby." I said.
"Ugh, don't start treating me like some fragile package. I'm more than capable of holding down my own, pregnant or not pregnant." Why couldn't she just do what she was told for once in her life?
