BEEP BEEP BEEP
I jumped up in the bed a little when the alarm clock went off.
6 AM.
The time when this "game" was supposed to end for the day.
But...they quit at 3:30. Something about Becca being too tired.
I know, I know, I should've stayed awake until the full time and stuff, but...exhaustion hit me pretty hard, especially with all the weird stuff that went down...last night/this morning, however you wanna look at it.
I shook my head a bit, clearing the fog from my head.
I needed to head back to Caleb's room for a villager toy. It most likely had the next note.
I stood up and stretched slightly, glancing about the room before exiting.
Becca wasn't at the computer and I could hear faint typing coming from behind the closed double door that...I believe led to her dad's room.
I turned and walked through the kitchen, glancing at the medicine bottles laid out on the center counter, or the island. I think it was Becca's.
I sighed lightly and slowly entered Caleb's room.
"Hi, Object...." Caleb sighed sadly.
I smiled sadly at him. He looked...well, really down.
"Is it ok if I play with your villager toy for a bit?" I asked him.
He nods and goes over to a cardboard box, pulling out a villager in a white coat. "Here. Just don't break it, please."
I nodded and left the room, sitting on the couch in the 2nd living room.
Glancing around, I quickly slid the previous note into the back of the phone, both of which had still been on me.
I looked around the villager, noticing a small switch on the back of his head. I tried pressing it down, but it wouldn't budge.
Underneath the switch was a slot I could lift, revealing a tiny hole in the villager's back that I could place something in. It was empty.
I went back into Caleb's room and asked him about what I should do to make the villager work.
He dug around in the box again and handed me a small, plastic emerald. "It's just like Minecraft," he said. "You can't steal from the villagers. You have to trade with them."
I thanked him and went back out to the couch.
I lifted the slot and placed the emerald inside, closing it again.
I tried pressing the switch again and the villager's arms opened to the side, a piece of paper falling out. Behind the paper was a compass, which I think was basically what you were trading the emerald for. The paper was much more valuable to me.
I closed the villager's arms and put it back into the box it came from.
Sitting on the couch once more, I unfolded the paper and read it.
If you're reading this, then you're one of Becca's friends. I am Rachel. Or...for now, at least.... Becca's beginning to have panic attacks. Frequently. I don't understand. It's just...one moment, she's playing on her phone, the next, she's shaking on the ground and crying out in agony, saying that she should be dead. It...it really scares me. She won't let anyone come near her. She lashes out. Caleb got a small scratch on his leg from trying to hug her. I'm scared. Where's Deana? Jay? Britney? Where are they? Do they know the pain she's in? Do they know how hurt she is? WHY is she hurt? Did...did they do something? Did they hurt her? ...No, that wouldn't make sense. They love her like...well, like a sister. Like...someone related to them. No, no, they didn't do anything. ...Did they? Becca, Becca, what's wrong? Why do you cry? Why do you wish to be dead? What's wrong...? I...I don't know what else to say here. Friend of Becca, please, you must do something, ANYTHING, to help her. Help my sister. She's hurting. Help her stop the hurt.... Help fix her broken heart....
