The group finally stopped for a bathroom break.

One-Shot got out of the truck with Addy leaving 10 alone.

Over the past couple weeks she had been feeling something new for 10k and decided she wanted to start distancing herself from him.

Trying to keep her promise to her.

"Stop the car." Doc said hitting the side of the vehicle.

One looked up ahead and saw a herd of zombie's feeding on the family from earlier. One frowned and heard Doc mumble, realizing it was the family.

"We got to get off this road." Garnett said, leaning out from the driver's seat. No kidding. One got up off the roof of the car, with Addy's help and looked at the family. She took a few steps forwards and one of the Z's came at her and she drew her knife.

The others came running her way and One-Shot started backing up, just as 10k shot them all. One looked over, nodding a thank you and the group all rushed to get into the truck.

One climbed into the truck at a window seat next to Addy and Murphy her riffle at her feet.

The group pulled up to one of the fast food restaurants, Addy claimed she could use the drive through to talk with Citizen Z. 10k stood holding up the satellite as Garnett spoke into the camera.

"This is Sargent Charles Garnett calling Northern Light." He said to the camera. One sat on top of the truck, looking out for any Z's.

"Charles Garnett calling Northern Light. Come in, Northern Light. Can you read me? Citizen Z, are you there. Over."

"Yes, this is Northern Light for Garnett." Citizen Z's voice came through the speakers. One grinned, keeping her riffle ready at all times. "Citizen Z hitting you back. Go for Garnett."

Thank god that worked. One-Shot hopped down from the roof of the truck as Garnett spoke with Citizen Z. Addy went up to talk and Doc asked for some fries and a shake. Murphy stepped forwards, getting annoyed. Garnett made Doc go back to the truck.

"Can't do anything without arguing." One mumbled and glance at 10k who was staring at her and she looked away quickly walking up to Addy.

"Puppies and kittens!" Warren shouted and the group ran for the truck

One-Shot tumbled forward almost falling on her face but 10k reached up to keep her from falling. One gained her balance and ended the awkward eye contact they held for a few seconds and got in the back with Addy

She looked out the window at the Z's behind the truck. Leaning her head back against the window, getting lost in her own thoughts until the truck came to a stop.

10k opened the door handing One a hand but she declined hopping out next to him and going around him.

One looked around seeing all the dead zombies.

"Have mercy." She muttered, looking out among the dead.

"Not exactly what I was hoping for." Garnett said as the group climbed out of the truck.

"One of these days you're gonna learn to quit hoping for things." Murphy said shutting his door.

One, looked around as the dead bodies piled up in and around an ambulance. As the group got up towards the steps more, a solider stepped forwards, aiming his gun at them.

One-Shot took her aim at him and held it there. "Halt! Who goes there!" He yelled at them.

"Sergeant Charles Garnett, National Guard. This is Lieutenant Roberta Warren, also National Guard"

"You want to see the General?" The man asked, now standing in front of One-Shot.

"You're going to have to pay a tribute." He said looking at Garnett then over at her.

One laughed, "Off limits, though I must say: You have great taste." She said. 10k wrapped his arm around Ones shoulder and she shrugged from his grip. He gave her a sad look which she ignored.

The soldier glared at One a little bit before looking back at Garnett, "Gesture of goodwill to show him you're serious."

"What kind of tribute you have in mind?" Garnett asked as Addy pulled One back, away from the group.

"Why are you ignoring 10?" She asked and One shrugged "I don't know what you mean," One stated.

"One you are hurting him." Addy explained and One huffed.

"When she died. She made me promise I wouldn't let a boy make me less then what I was." One-Shot explained and sucked in a sharp breath.

"Who did One?" One-Shot looked down at her feet.

"Rider." Addy looked at her sadness in her eyes. "Whose Rider?" Addy asked and a tear slipped from Ones eyes.

"My best friend since childhood. Almost like a sister to me. She died." Addy pulled one into a hug.

"Sweetie I don't think she'd ever want you to ignore your happiness. It's obvious 10 makes you happy. Don't shut him out."

One-Shot shrugged. "I don't know Addy. It's my one way of staying with her."

Addy nodded placing a hand on her shoulder. "Well, think about it."

"Hey where's doc going." Addy called glancing at the group.

"He went inside." Garnett explained. "He's gonna try and convince the General to help us."

Addy nodded and walked over to Mack leaving One-Shot alone.

"C?" 10 asked and she looked up at him. His eyes were glazed over with despair. She looked back down quickly fiddling with her hands.

"Why are you ignoring me?" 10 asked and One shrugged walking away from him leaving him alone.

10k got on the truck shooting some zombie.

"One!" Addy yelled and 10 looked over at One-Shot as Addy ran up to her.

He looked over at One as Addy ran up to her

Tears threatened to fall but he blinked them back, looking away.

"One-Shot you need to talk to him." Addy scolds looking at 10k.

"Addy I need to keep this last bit of her with me or she'll be gone." Addy smiled sadly at the young girl

"Well he's gonna be gone too if you don't talk to him." Addy explained running off.

One-Shot thought about it.

Would she lose 10k too?
