The group was currently in Illinois, staying at some stranger's house.
One took a spare room upstairs away from everyone needing some time alone. But instead falling asleep.
Mack and Addy were outside for now, doing whatever and Warren and Garnett were in the kitchen.
Cassandra laid on one couch, 10K in his chair. Doc and Murphy plaid cards at the dining room table. Doc and Murphy were talking and laughing when Garnett shushed them.
10 walked up stairs to the room One was in knocking lightly before walking in. He pulled the blankets slightly up and she jolted awake. Sweat beading down her face and she grabbed his hand.
"Stay. Please." Her voice sounded strained but he nodded slipping into the bed next to her. She cuddled into his chest and soon was asleep once more.
He slowly slipped out of the covers trying not wake her walking down the steps to the kitchen.
"Friends, I'm talking about mean weather coming in fast." Citizen Z's voice came through the radio, sounding very much like a weather man. "Some reports of tornados. Find shelter and take cover. It's dangerous out there. More so than usual. Now back to the soothing sounds of the Apocalypse."
10 laughed slightly at Citizen Z, he had a unique humor that made the inevitable apocalypse less terrifying.
Addy and Mack came back in and it was Warren and Garnett's turn to keep watch.
One got up, walking back down the stairs into the living room. The nightmare she previously had replaying in her head. She sat down on the couch opposite of Cassandras.
"Please C!" The voice cried and her hand shook her thumb slowly pulling back on the hammer. Before pulling the trigger
She dropped to the floor next to the body sobs racking her body.
Hearing Addy's giggling as two sets of feet ran up the stairs, presumably her and Mack. One rolled her eyes, leaning against the couch, closing her eyes. She must have fallen asleep, because She was awoken by someone placing a blanket on her.
She brought her hand up grabbing theirs and twisting it.
She looked up and saw 10K trying to get his wrist from her grasp, his teeth gritted.
"I didn't... I'm sorry." She said quickly, getting up and making sure he was fine.
"Scared of that one." Murphy commented from the kitchen. One raised her eyes to glare at him.
"Best not to mess." Doc commented, which was probably true. You shouldn't mess with a girl who's been slaughtering zombies for a good portion of her growing up.
10K sat back in his chair, grabbing his magazine again.
"You know if we breed those two, it'd be all over for the zombies." Murphy said causing Ones head to snap towards him entirely.
She glanced at 10K who looked back down at the magazine his face red. She got up, sitting back down on the couch as Doc and Murphy laughed hysterically.
Pretty soon, Warren and Garnett came running back in. Puppies and Kittens. Time to leave. One got up, nearly forgetting her riffle as the group fled out the back door, Garnett behind them to shoot down a few Z's.
10K helped her into the bed of the truck, she
thanked him and set her gun down next to her, pulling her knees to her chest. Being on the run like this, all the time, it made her feel like a wanted criminal, rather than just trying to survive.~~~
"10k, One Shot." Garnett commanded looking at the two. "Go look for medical supplies." The two nodded as One tried not to groan. The group kept putting them on runs which stopped her from keeping her distance. He kept trying to talk to her but she just kept shutting him out. And eventually he stopped trying.
"Don't go to far." Garnett called as they walked out of the house, One-Shot keeping her distance from 10.
They walked past the buildings looking for a pharmacy.
One-Shot screamed as she saw the tornado approaching at a more rapid pace. 10k grabbed her hand and pulled her into a nearby car.
One-Shot started to hyperventilate looking for something to grasp onto as her breathing became quick and shallow.
She gripped onto 10k's leg who looked up at her then back down at his thigh then back up and her repeatedly. She shot him a small glare as her breathing became more rapid.
One-Shot always hated storms she always had Rider to guide her through them but now she had nothing.
"One-Shot?" 10k asked putting his hand on the roof of the car as it started to move. She nodded her head in acknowledgment.
"Look at me." He said trying to distract her.
She took in a long sharp breath trying to control her breathing.
"I love you Tommy. If we don't get out of this. I love you I'm sorry for growing distant I realized what Rider meant was that she wanted me to be happy. She never wanted to prevent me from loving someone" She explained her voice cracking and he nodded.
"I love you too. I know where you were coming from. I know Rider meant a lot it was your way of holding onto her." He said and her breathing quickened as the car moved higher up.
"Hey. It's okay. It's okay." He whispered picking her chin up to look at him the other placed on the roof.
"Just look at me. Focus on my voice." He whispered trying to distract the girl who sat in front of him.
"Okay." She whispered trying to slow her breathing.
The car thudded to the ground and One-Shot let out a blood curling scream.
The world started to fade around her.
10 was calling her name over and over again but it just echoed in her head and darkness took over her.
