Overall, Jamie had a nice day spending time with Ben. His world was so simple and carefree compared to hers. It was nice to be able to be a part of it even if it was just for three days a week.

Ben had a very strict schedule and diet. He had to have a specific mixture of medication every few hours and Jamie had to prepare him special meals that couldn't include nuts, eggs, wheat, or fish. Other than all the specific rules that he had to follow to maintain his fragile health, Ben really was just your average 5-year-old who just wanted to have fun.

Ben got tired very easily which meant that he usually took three or four naps a day. It was around 5 o'clock when he passed out for his fourth nap of the day. Walking down the stairs from his room, Jamie entered the massive living room.

There were large, luxurious looking couches on top of a plush, wine-colored rug. Iridescent vases filled with pastel colored flowers were strewn across the room adding to the elegance. It was no secret that Ben's family was very well off. Being able to enjoy the luxuries of Ben's home was an awesome perk of the job. Probably Jamie's favorite part about Ben's house was the giant flat screen tv. It had Netflix, HBO, Hulu, Amazon Prime, and all the other horns and whistles.

Picking up the tv remote and sitting herself on one of the couches, Jamie decided to take some time for herself while Ben was napping.

Even though David would be back soon relieving Jamie of her duties, she started playing one of her favorite Office episodes on Netflix. She enjoyed her twenty minutes of relaxation before David walked through the door.

Jamie had been laughing nonstop since the episode started, but as soon as the front door swung open the light mood was instantly replaced with one of coldness and intensity. Quickly pushing the pause button on the remote, Jamie watched as David entered the living room plopping himself on a chair across from her. Dragging his hands along his face, David sighed obviously spent from his day at work.

"Hard day at work?" Jamie asked him. She meant it jokingly, but around David's presence, it was hard for her to smile. Besides, David didn't seem like the kind of guy to joke around with anyway.

He chuckled, his low voice shaking her whole body as he leaned back against the chair. "I guess you could say that."

Twiddling with her thumbs, Jamie was unsure what to say next. She stared at the tv screen trying to distract herself from the awkwardness.

"Listen," David began. "I apologize about my behavior this morning. I had a very important meeting that I didn't realize I was so stressed about. I'm sorry if your first impression of me may have been negative."

She turned her head to face him surprised by how sincere he sounded. It took her a few seconds to respond.

"Don't worry about it," Jamie replied.

David coughed and straightened his back clearly uncomfortable with apologizing to someone. He folded his hands together returning to business mode. "Was Benjamin on his best behavior?"

Jamie smiled at the mention of Ben."Oh, yes! He never gives me any trouble. He really is a good kid."

He nodded in response as honking was heard outside. Jamie stood up putting on her jacket.

"Well, that's my ride." She said.

David got up from where he was seated and extended his hand out to her. Apprehensively, she took his hand, watching as hers disappeared inside his large grip.

"Jamie." He said with a seriousness as if he was talking to a business partner. "I'll see you Friday 8:30 am sharp."

As David released her, Jamie stumbled backward from the sudden instability. Another honk sounded outside so she turned away from David walking out the front door.
