Luckily, Logan was at the apartment just killing time with video games when Jamie asked him if he could drive her to Ben's house. They quickly got in the car and sped down the freeway making it to the large house in exactly twenty minutes.

As Logan drove away, Jamie knocked on the door. David immediately answered the door before the second knock.

"Thank you so much for getting here so quickly," He said opening the door wider so Jamie could walk in.

Every time she entered Ben's house she was immediately taken aback in awe. It was the most elegant house she had ever been in, a house she could only dream of having one day. Jamie knew that a modest suburban home was most likely her future and she could already see Logan and her living in it. There was also the possibility of a couple of little ones running around in it. She smiled at the thought.

While David was speedily tying his tie around his neck, they walked over to the living room where Ben was at. Sitting in the center of the rug, Ben was playing with Captain America and Iron Man action figures. He was so focused on his toys that he didn't even notice that Jamie and David had entered the room.

"Hey, Ben," Jamie greeted while sitting down on one of the comfy, expensive couches. Ben looked up from his playtime and gave Jamie a big smile in response before returning back to Steve and Tony.

Jamie noticed David over to the side struggling to simultaneously send a text message and fix his disheveled hair in the mirror. His shoes were on his feet, but they were completely untied. Also, the ends of his belt flared out at the front of his waist still waiting to be buckled. It was strange for Jamie to see David like this. He always had an appearance of authority and perfection. However, right now, he seemed distressed and disorganized. His eyebrows were furrowed together in worry and frustration and Jamie once again became curious about why he needed to get to work so fast.

"Is everything alright at work?" Jamie asked. "If you don't mind me asking."

David grabbed a navy blue suit jacket that was folded on the kitchen counter. In one quick fluid motion, he placed it on himself buttoning it at the center.

"Oh, I don't mind," He replied taking a seat next to Jamie in order to tie his shoes. Jamie instantly picked up on David's fancy cologne. It was a scent that reminded Jamie of the ocean. Fresh, powerful, and intensely manly.

"Well, my partner is away from the office due to a severe family member injury. I'm second in command so his usual responsibilities have been placed on me. Any issue with the construction company is now directly brought to me so I've been dealing with a lot these past couples of days."

"Wait, you work for a construction company? Does it happen to be Wildorf Construction?"

David nodded bending down to tie his left shoe. "Yes, that's the one."

"The family member you're talking about is Bryce, right? Sean Wildorf's son? I go to school with him. It's terrible what happened."

David got up from the couch to grab his wallet and car keys from the counter. "I agree. He's a very smart, young man and I'm looking forward to him being a co-worker one day. He already has a lot of good ideas for the company when he graduates. I and everyone at the office wish him a speedy recovery."

And with that David walked out the door leaving Jamie with Ben. Ben seemed content in his own little world so Jamie scrolled through Instagram to pass the time. About twenty minutes into watching Instagram makeup tutorials, Jamie paused when she heard Ben whimpering below her. She hopped off the couch and knelt down next to him in concern.

"Hey, bud. Are you okay?" She asked placing a comforting hand on his shoulder.

He rubbed his nose with the back of his hand, his eyes shining with tears. "It's just..."
