It was Tuesday morning and Beca and Stacie were sitting in their class, waiting on the professor. Beca slept all weekend to get rid of the hangover that never seemed to go away so she only turned on one assignment and she was half asleep when she did it so the paper probably wasn't good at all. Stacie tried to help her as much as possible but Beca refused to get up, saying that she can find time to stop sleeping or laying around and actually do her work. She didn't but it shouldn't affect her grade in the class too much since she had an A.
"How is it that I slept all weekend but I still feel like I could pass out given the chance?" Beca muttered to Stacie, her head acting as a head rest against the desk.
"I don't know but you should probably look alive because Gilbert is walking in," she said filing her nails with her leg crossed over the other.
Beca glared at her. "Says the one who won't stop looking at her nails."
Stacie glared back before rolling her eyes. As Gilbert spoke, she stuck the object in her bag before looking up at the professor to figure our what's going on in the class before completely tuning him out.
The brunette however, couldn't get a weird feeling out of her stomach. Whatever she was doing, she felt his eyes on her. He sat at his desk and graded papers while the class worked diligently but still managed to stare at Beca longer than he should or for what was considered okay by society. He never walked around and laid his hand on Beca's shoulder or stood close to her like he usually did, but she knew something was up; she could feel it.
He ended up dismissing the class early which he rarely ever did and Beca gathered her belongings. Right as her and Stacie were leaving the room, he stopped her.
"Beca, do you mind to stay for a few minutes?" He asked. "I need to talk about your assignments."
The brunette turned to Stacie who gave her a look to ask if she would be okay and Beca just nodded.
"I'll catch you back at the Bella house," she smiled Stacie nodded before looking at their professor one last time and exiting.
"Is there something wrong with my work, Professor Gilbert?" Beca asked and the door shut behind Stacie.
"I have to say, Beca, I'm very disappointed," he said taking his glasses off and sitting on the edge of his desk. "You didn't turn in both assignments and the one you did, it wasn't too good."
"I know," Beca said taking a step towards him out of habit when talking with someone. "I didn't feel good over the weekend and I didn't really get to do the second assignment."
Gilbert looked her up and down before standing up, turning to look at a paper on his desk. "I'll tell you what," he said motioning the student over and she came reluctantly. "If you can tell me what this means, then I'll give you another day to finish the work and give it to me."
Beca exhaled before looking down at the paper. "It's a 10 measure, 3/4 beat song." She looked up at him with furrows eyebrows and he moved around her so she looked back down at the paper. "It's not finished yet but it looks good-" She cut herself off when she heard the door lock and she quickly turn around to see an almost sinister look on the professor's face.
"I should leave," She said grabbing her bag off the floor and making her way to the door but the older man slowly stepped in front of her, a sick smirk playing on his lips.
"What's the rush?" he asked lowly and touched Beca's arm but she pulled it away, trying to move around him so she could escape. "Woah there, kitty," he added, grabbing her waist and holding his hand over her mouth, her bag dropping to the ground. "You've been one of my favorite students in years and you just drive me crazy."
