Piggyback

Pairing: Krystal/Amber

One-shot

Synopsis: Amber acquires a slight injury while performing. Worried Krystal is also Authoritarian Krystal.

Piggyback

"I'm taking you to the hospital." Krystal says adamantly while practically dragging (carrying) Amber backstage after their performance.

"Look, it's just a small sprain. I could probably just put some ice on it and it wouldn't hurt so much." Amber tries to resist because really, her ankle doesn't hurt that bad. Minutes ago she slipped on stage but she recovered quickly and continued dancing.

All f(x) members enter the van. Krystal rushes to go inside and pulls Amber beside her. Luna, Sulli and Victoria quietly follow. They know that the couple in their group is currently fighting (in English, might they add) and no one (keyword is no one) wants to interfere because they're scared (no, scared is not the right word); to be technically correct: they just don't want to receive death glares from Krystal once they try to intervene. Even Victoria gets shivers every time the youngest maknae gives her the evil look.

From what they've learned in the past, a Kryber fight is not something they want to be dragged in. So their best solution is to remain quiet.

"Hey manager oppa, could you please drive a little faster? I'm taking Amber to the hospital." Krystal thankfully speaks in Korean this time. Their road manager complies and speeds up the car.

"Soo-Jung. It honestly doesn't hurt." Amber also speaks to her in Korean. She then turns to the group and asks them. "You guys saw me slipped, right? It's nothing serious. Victoria unnie?"

Victoria is startled. She doesn't want to get involved like they originally planned. Oh no.

Luna and Sulli silently thank the heavens for not dragging them into the war.

"Yeah Victoria unnie, what do you think?" This time, Amber's not the one talking. Krystal is. Victoria chances a glance at the redhead and sees her raising her eyebrows. Her voice is kind but her facial expression says it all: Side with Amber and you'll regret your decision.

"Uh...Amber, I think Krystal's right. It's better you go to the hospital. We'll never know... maybe you're really hurt. Better safe than sorry." Somehow Amber knows that the last statement of the unnie is not referring to her injury.

"But..."

"No buts. Our leader has already made her decision." Krystal cuts in. She literally covers Amber's mouth with her hand to end the conversation. (It's necessary to say that her hand stays there until they reach the hospital).

The moment they're in front of the building, Krystal pulls Amber out and literally carries her piggyback style. The other members are snickering because they know Amber hates to be carried. They stick out their tongues when Amber looks back at them.

"You guys suck!" Amber shouts at them before disappearing inside the emergency room.

While the doctor checks her ankle, with Krystal besides her (looking intensely at her "injured" foot), Amber receives a text from the other members:

"Cute little Amber being carried by princess Krystal :P" from Sulli.

"We love you Am, bring out some lollipops after the check up <3" from Luna.

"You know she's just worried. She loves you so much, you know." from Victoria. Victoria unnie's right. -Amber thinks. Deep deep inside, she's glad that Krystal always overreacts every time she's hurt. It just shows how much she cares. From Amber accidentally hitting her head with the fridge door (she's clumsy don't blame her) to her serious ankle injury years ago; Krystal always worries. She always cares.

And it makes me love her more.

Her phone buzzes again with another text from Victoria: "P.S: Enjoy your piggyback ride!! =)))"

20 minutes later (after some quick scans by the doctor- as suggested by Krystal; "I want to make sure her ankle's fine.")

While on their way out of the hospital, Amber intertwines her fingers with the other girl and kisses her on the cheek.

"What was that for?"

"Just a 'thank you' for being the best girlfriend ever." Amber smiles lovingly at her girlfriend.

"Wait." Krystal stops when they're a few steps (still holding hands) away from the van.

"What is it?"

"Does that mean there was a better girlfriend before me?" Krystal looks indignant.

"NO! I didn't mean in like that, babe, I—"

Krystal bursts out laughing and pulls her girlfriend to an intense kiss. "I was just kidding, babe." She says each word with every other peck on the other girl's lips. "And you can't stop me from worrying about you. I love you, you know." Amber smiles at hearing this.

While still kissing Krystal, Amber sees Sulli and Victoria (from inside the van) making imaginary picture taking gestures at them. Nerds. Suddenly, the van's window opens and Luna throws a small cushion at the back of Krystal's head. This startles Krystal and she shouts: "Ya! Luna unnie, what are you doing?!"

"Get a room, you two. Come on get in, let's go home. We're all sleepy here. Continue your ewwy session someplace else." Luna playfully whines and shuts the window again.

Amber just shakes her head and thinks: I have the best people in the world with me.

...And the best girlfriend ever who gives me piggyback rides!
