"So what do you think?" Zane turned on his side to face you in bed. Truth be told, you were so far liking it here. Even despite the awkwardness around the events when you first walked in, everything seemed to be going well. After sitting down and having a long talk over dinner, you hit it off with both Zoey and Tyler. Turns out, Zoey was a waitress at a small cafe that was looking for new help and she offered to help you receive a job there. Tyler, on the other hand, worked with Zane in marketing which is where they met but, censoring his sexual comments, he didn't like to travel, explaining why you hadn't met him at the meeting.
Charisse joined the conversation a few hours later. Tyler shot her a look that made you wonder if you would be getting sleep tonight. You pretended not to notice and introduced yourself to Charisse. Unlike the bubbly personality of Zoey or the inappropriate demeanor of Tyler, Charisse was more gloomy and irritable. Whether it was just who she was or she didn't like you, you couldn't distinguish it, but you figured 2-1 was pretty good odds. F is for "Fantastic!" or at least that's what you told your parents.
"Of what?" you finally answer, your eyes scanning his chest. His pale body may not be super ripped like Tyler's, but to you it was twice as hot.
Zane chuckled, showing you his breath-taking smile, and brushed a strand of hair from your face with the back of his hand. "My friends. This place. Everything."
"It's nice."
"Nice? That's all?" He seemed bemused by your answer.
"I like it here."
"What do you like?"
"You."
"Awe. And I thought you loved me.~" he teased. You blushed a little and kissed his lips gently. "What did you think of my friends?"
You roll on your back and let out a long sigh: the way you did when you were about to tell the honest, bare-boned truth. "They're interesting. Zoey is very excitable and the fact she keeps trying to kiss me I find strange but she's very nice. Tyler is very... Well, he's fine as long as you pay attention where he's trying to put his hands."
Zane chuckled at this, "True."
"But it's Charisse I'm worried about."
"Why?"
"Well... I mean you were there. Didn't you see how she looked at me? She sat far away from me and gave me this look the whole time. I think she hates me."
"She doesn't hate you."
"It seems like it."
Zane chuckled and kissed you sweetly, wrapping his arms around you. "She can be as cold as an icicle but she'll warm up to you eventually."
"Yeah. I hope so." You closed your eyes and melted into his arms.
"I love you." He whispered as you drifted to sleep.
"Love you too."
~time skip~
"Wake up guys!" Zoey's voice boomed throughout the apartment.
You sat straight up in bed, not expecting such an awakening. In the process you broke out of Zane's arms waking him up.
"Awe. I was hoping you wouldn't be wearing a shirt." A figure stood in the doorway and light filtered in around them. It took your eyes several moments to adjust and focus on the feminine figure of Zoey. You blushed, slowly processing her words. Considering today was Saturday and it was 6am, you were not expecting or wanting to get up this early. How Zoey had this much energy already, you had no idea.
"Well, get up you two. Tyler made breakfast this morning."
"Oh no! I'll grab the fire extinguisher. What has he done this time?" Zane jumped out of bed and started to pull on his jeans. You were sad to see him cover up his body: you had a rather erotic dream last night and was hoping for a little something something.
