Chapter 5 - Finally home
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Sasha's POV
I come out of P.E with sweaty and exhausted, making my clothes stick to my skin. The second the coaches told us to get dressed I ran straight to the locker room, changing quickly before running back out into the gym. I throw my bag down a big thud coming from it as it hits the ground. I plop down next to my bag, grabbing my phone from my pocket scrolling through my Instagram feed. I decided to search up this Carter fellow but am surprised when I come up empty. Well that certainly didn't help anything.
My train of thought is interrupted by a loud thud, causing me to jump slightly. I look up and see the jackass himself, Aidan. I can't help but roll my eyes. Instead of taking that as a "fuck off prick" hint, he simply sat down on his bag which he so rudely disturbed my thoughts with by dropping it. Before I could say anything Amabel called out to him, a smile clear on her face and lively eyes to match it.
"Hey" he greeted her simply, a smirk playing on his lips.
"Whatcha doin" she questioned, sitting down next to me. I couldn't help but smile.
"Oh nothinnn' just decided to give your salty friend some company, since she was over her all by herself" He smirked, more at me than Ama.
Amabel giggled as she wrapped her arms around my neck before pulling me into a somewhat side hug, making me drop my phone in the process. I could see the jackass pick up my phone - that was still unlocked - before doing some shit on it. I swear to god he's asking for a fight. I reluctantly pushed against Ama's surprisingly warm embrace, a low growl escaping as I glare at Aidan. He simply smirks before dropping my phone on top of my bag.
I'm gonna kill this kid.
I manage to get free of Ama's tight grip. I snatch my phone out of his reach and was about to pounce on him to if it wasn't for the dumb bell, I glare at him instead. I look at my phone to see what damage that prick has done but, surprisingly I couldn't find anything. I grab my bag and follow Cadi out of the gym, shooting glares at Aidan who has his arm slung over Amabel's shoulder. It took everything in my to not punch him right then and there.
Soon enough I make it to Physical Science, that I sadly have not any of my friends with. The class is almost full which isn't a surprise. I take a desk in the very back, pulling out my phone to further inspect any damage Aidan might have caused it. I open up Instagram when I realized he had made me follow him, that cocky little prick. I was just about to unfollow him when I saw one of his most recent post. Him and who I presumed to be Carter we're in what seemed to be a gaming room, judging by the posters and PlayStation 4 I could barely make out.
What caught my eye was the smiles that were present on both their faces, genuine smiles that I rarely see people wear now a days. I could feel this uncomfortable heat rush to my cheeks as I realized Carter was shirtless. My chest gave a very annoying squeeze, the heat in my cheeks increasing causing goosebumps to appear on my arms. The caption read "Hanging out with my best bro" then what seemed to be Carter's tag after it.
Before it even process in my head I like the photo before shutting my phone off, the odd feeling still present in my chest. I groaned, laying my head down on the desk, a headache making its way back. I put my phone back in my bag before attempting to pay attention to the dumb class. This day couldn't have any worse.
~ Time Skip ~
"Ugh finally" I groan as I walk out of the hell hole called school.
"Oh come on, it's only the first day and you're already complaining" Mack nags beside me.
"Shut up" I respond.
We make it to my car rather quickly, since I did park in the front. Everyone else was either socializing with their new found friends or getting away from this hell hole. I could already feel my phone buzzing violently in my pocket from the group chat. Still don't see why they had to include me in the stupid thing. I groan as I feel the annoying headache come back. Honestly today couldn't get any worse and, it's only the first day.
I get in my car, starting the engine the second I get in. I see M'kaela walk over to Cadi, catching a ride. I once again see Aidan chatting away with Ama, I honestly don't know why she even talks to him.
I look behind them and see that stupid Carter kid standing next to what seemed to be a very expensive car. He seems to be in a heated conversation with what I'm guessing his brother, seems like their arguing over something. I couldn't help but stare.
I quickly looked away as I saw stupid Carter look my way, my cheeks heating up again. Why this happens every time he looks at me, the reason is unknown to me. I pull out of the school parking lot, driving home as fast as the speed limit allows. My stomach felt uneasy, my hands were shaking.
Ughh why does this keep happening to me!
I some how manage to make it home, even though this headache made it extremely hard to concentrate. Grabbing my stuff from my seat I head inside, going straight to my room. I lay down on my bed groaning.
"Sis?" I hear my brother, Jason through the door.
"Yeah" I mumble through my pillow.
I hear the door creak open, then shut, before feeling the mattress dip down slightly from the added weight. Without a second passing he starts rambling on about his mystery books and such. Right as he's going on about detectives, I get an idea.
"How do the detectives usually solve the Crimes" I question.
"Simple, gather clues, interrogate people, or just get to know the people in general" He replies simply, before continuing his rambling.
I space him out as I take in what he said. I don't want to get to know the guy then he might get the wrong idea. Sooner or later he leaves, I get ready for bed rather quickly. I lay down on my bed sighing. The headache still present. I eventually fall asleep with thoughts filling my head.
