Chapter 4 - Rumors Confirmed

Sasha's POV

So after the long and informational class with Melody, I learned some things. One of them being that Mel and Carter basically grew up together since she was 5. She didn't go into much detail about his personal life and I didn't try to make her, that's just rude. From what she told me Dominic or 'Dino', another one of Mel's nicknames, is the favorite of the two children.

I kinda thought that when saw Dino wearing what looked like brand new black Adidas, while Carter seemed to be sporting very worn out black vans. Probably hand me downs judging by the scoff marks and poor condition.

Another thing I learned is that their step brothers, not related in any way. Mel told me Carter's mom died when he was young, she didn't mention how thou. She said something about no other family and how he had been a foster kid for a while until Dino's parents adopted him. She didn't explain a lot of things after that, just his interest and other boring things.

Even know as I walk through the crowd hallways to World History my head clouded with thoughts and questions. Mainly about Carter's mom's death and why Mel didn't really mention his home life that much. Well I mean I don't want anyone prying into my personal life. So why do I care so much about his? I couldn't help but feel like a kid again, when I used to play detective with my friends. So this Carter fella is kinda like my mystery to solve and, in all honesty I was kinda excited.

~ Time Skip to Lunch ~

After the long boring World History class that I sadly had to take by myself with Melody. Mack and Cadi in Physical Science. Amabi in English. Leaving me all alone in the dumb history class, the stupid asshole of a teacher decided to give out an assignment about something related to some shit I didn't bother remembering. It's not like I could remember it anyway, probably would have gotten lost in my thoughts somewhere.

I haven't stopped thinking about what Mel told me and for some reason Aidan's annoying bragging was there too. I know it's only the first day but the rumors spread like wildfire and, they were getting annoying, real quick. Majority of them surrounding Aidan and his supposed 'Rich friend'.

"Sushiii, come on I'm hungry" Melody whines, tugging on my arm.

"Why can't you just get lunch yourself like everyone else" I groan, my head throbbing from all the noise coming from the other hungry teens.

"You know full well why I can't" She pouts, her lip quivering slightly and a puppy dog look in her eyes.

Before she causes a scene I grab her wrist, dragging her towards the already growing lunch line. "Your lucky I didn't slap that look of your face". I growl, trying to soothe my growing headache

She just giggles and hugs me, completely unfazed by the threat I just made. She knows that I make all these threats but I'd never go through with any of them. I roll my eyes and let out a sigh as I pat her head gently, since she was much shorter than me. Seeing how she was barely 5 foot and me being 5'6, her small build making her one of the shortest kid at our school.

We make it through the lunch line rather quickly, Melody grabbing the still somewhat hot hamburger and fries while I settled for a blue slushie. We make it back to our loud table, everyone talking about random things. The loudness didn't help with my already massive headache.

'Damn it, I have to get answers. Now' I think to myself.

Without another word I stand up from our chatty table and head towards the even louder hallways. I'm getting my answers someway or another, maybe it'll help this headache. I occasionally push past students, complaining one might I add, before finally seeing them. I try to sort my thoughts together as I approach him.

"Aww look its little chocolate puff, Sasha right? You're friends with Amanda aren't you" Aidan ask with a smirk on his face. He was leaning casually leaning against a locker, another one of his hoe's by his side.

I can't help but scoff "Yeah, I have some questions I want you to answer, hot-shot".

He nods before turning to the girl at his side, whispering something in her ear before she leaves.

"Shoot". He says simply, crossing his arms over his chest.

"First off, do you really have a rich friend? Or is that just a rumor". I question him, rubbing my temples, the headache quickly returning.

"Yeah, it's Carter and Domino. Isn't it obvious". He retorts in a duh tone.

"No, no it wasn't obvious you prick. If it was obvious do you really think I would waste brain cells asking you" I snap.

I've never been someone who was slow to anger, the exact opposite actually. But somehow, this smug little asshole was pushing all my buttons.

"Ooo feisty, I like it. Is that all you wanted grumpy pants". I could just hear the cockiness in his voice and the smirk I wanted to slap off him so badly.

I took a deep breath before continuing. "Is Carter really Dominic's brother"

He simply nods, his eyes glued to an on passing girls ass. I clench my fist in frustration.

'Jeez did this guy have any decency, he could at least look at me when I'm talking to him'. I complain to myself.

I grab my phone out of my back pocket and check the time 12:26, the bells bound to ring soon. Slipping my phone back into my pocket I wave my free hand in front of his face. His eyes pull away from the unsuspecting girls ass and back to me. I pinch the bridge of my nose and let out a sigh, this guy must really want me to punch him.

"Yo salty, got anymore questions or is this interview over". He says, seeming distracted yet again.

"Listen here pretty boy, you hurt my friend in any way possible, I swear to god I won't hesitate to kick your ass and send you to hell personally". I growl, grabbing the collar of his shirt to empathize my point.

He held his hands up in defense "Alright, Alright. Calm down tiger, I won't hurt any of your weird friends".

I simply nod and let go of his shirt. Before I could say anything else to this asswipe the bell rings. I groan, head back to the cafeteria, grab my stuff before heading to P.E with Cadi and Ama. Ama of course trailing behind chatting casually with Aidan. It's only the first day and this one person has managed to piss me off.

Well at least some rumors were confirmed

Sooo how do you like it. Finally got some answers but not much. Why dose Sasha keep thinking about Carter's life so much, I mean it's not of her business anyway.

So I'll be updating every Friday or Saturday, excluding holidays.
