Months and weeks have passed by and nothing out of the ordinary happened. Maybe I did become more conscious in his presence, but he never noticed it. No, I haven't made a move and he hasn't made a move. More importantly, I want to know if he even remotely likes me that way.
"Guess what!" Julia exclaimed, her iPad clutched in her hand when she squealed from her bed in excitement. I looked up from the paper that I was trying to finish for my class and only quirked a brow because I had no time to dillydally.
She grinned, flipping the device around to show me a poster of Heart Valentine, her perfect face smiling upon me with a bunch of dates and location at the bottom, "She just announced the dates for the European leg of her tour and she's stopping by the nearby city."
As if this was a sitcom, the pencil I was holding dropped at the same time my jaw did. Julia was completely oblivious to my less than enthusiastic reaction as she went on about all three of us should go buy tickets and such. It was only a three-hour drive so she then started to gush about what a ride it would be and all that.
Heart coming here equals Adam seeing her again in person. While I do not delusion myself by saying that they don't talk often, they do, but it's always different when you're face to face with the girl you used to love so much.
There goes my miniscule chance.
And to add to that, I have no idea where he was in the whole 'moving on' spectrum.
"Tickets go on sale soon, what do you say?" she asked, her eyes shining with hope as well as pleading me to say yes. I still don't see why they have to sell it so early when I read that the concert wasn't until next year.
Naturally, I agreed but in the end, I didn't have to because when I met with Adam, he announced with the same amount of glee during one of our breakfast dates, "Soph got us both VIP tickets plus backstage passes."
Watch the guy I like fall for his best friend all over again? No thank you.
"I promised Julia that I will go with her and Meg," it was the truth but I was using it more as an excuse.
"Then I'll ask her if we could let them come with us," he attempted again, raising his white coffee mug, "Please, I really want you to meet each other."
Nah. The last time she and I were even remotely involved, a huge fight ensued. Three's a crowd, Adam Nicholas. You, of all people, should know that.
"I'll think about it," I said, pushing my food around the plate with my fork.
Don't let the green-eyed monster go loose again because although it had been proven effective in the past, I highly doubt I want to use that tactic again. We finished breakfast, paid the bill, and we headed separate ways with me going to my next class.
As you could guess, I could barely concentrate and if that wasn't enough, the girl in front of me was watching some movie on her laptop instead of listening to our professor. I do admit the lecture was rather boring so I couldn't really blame her.
Craning my neck so I could see a better view of what she was watching, I almost chucked my textbook towards the laptop when I saw Heart on the screen. Once again, she was a vision of beauty and grace while placed in a movie depicting the Victorian Era. Her mouth pressed stiffly, almost arrogantly as she danced with a male partner, her hands doing intricate movements. What got you were her eyes, the intensity in her stare at the camera got left you breathless.
Didn't somebody mention that she had a movie coming up? One wherein she starred with Axel Brooks?
Now if that's what she can portray to a person she didn't love, I can only imagine her expression when she was acting with her boyfriend.
