"You're a little out of it," Vance pointed out from beside me.
One of the perks, okay somehow it was more of a disadvantage, to having Vance in one of my classes was that I rarely got bored. But also, I barely got to understand anything from the professor.
"Just thinking," I murmured a reply.
He hummed before snickering, mischievousness written all over his features, "Thinking of ways to surprise him on Valentine's Day?"
If I was drinking anything, I would comically spat it out by now. I couldn't believe that I actually freaking forgot about Valentine's Day. I looked over to my laptop screen to see the date and my head started panicking more when I realized it was only a few days away.
Great, I was such a good somewhat-girlfriend that I actually forgot.
"Yeah," I played along instead of having him mock me, "Any suggestions?"
He smirked and started suggestively wiggling his eyebrows. I knew immediately what he was implying and I rolled my eyes, slapping him lightly on the arm, "You're a creep."
"But I'm sure he'd be glad if ever you decide to go my route," he chuckled teasingly, "Take my word for it, Sienna."
I told myself that he was just joking but how the hell did I end up in a lingerie store literally the next day. Julia held up a cute set and I groaned, covering my face in embarrassment, "Why am I doing this?"
Meg swung an arm around my shoulder and laughed, "Because it's his job to bring the flowers, the wine, and chocolates and it's your job to bring the other thrill."
I looked at her incredulously and she started laughing heartily because of how mortifying and corny she sounded. Really, it sounded like from a weird teen sitcom that got canceled by the second episode.
"What's his favorite color?" Julia questioned, putting the hanger back on the rack, "Or you could go innocent with white or be extra alluring with black."
"Do you even hear yourself," I huffed, breaking free from Meg's hold, "Let's get out of here, I'm not even sure if I can do this."
She and Meg shared a look, one that I knew I wasn't going to like in the end. Julia sighed dramatically, looping arms with me, "Fine, let's go find you a nice outfit then because I'm sure you're going on a date."
"Well, he hasn't asked me out yet," I frowned as she led me out of the shop, "We're days away and we talk to each other all the time and not once did he ask me out on a date."
"It's the twenty-first century, how about you be the one to ask him out?" she suggested.
She did have a point and besides, maybe he was just a little bit busy. I mean, if Vance never told me then I would have completely forgotten.
Meg appeared behind us with a mischievous grin, dropping one paper on my hand, "For you," then she gave a similar one to Julia, "And another for you."
Why did I expect this?
However, Julia was not. Her cheeks reddened so fast and she looked like she was on the verge of yelling, "This wasn't part of the plan."
"Don't look at me like that, you have a guy as well," she winked, ignoring her complaints of embarrassment.
Alright, next time I was going to need to warn Meg and Julia about doing these things in front of me. All things considered, the man that Julia was dating was my cousin and just the thought of what she was implying made me want to barf.
But nonetheless, I thanked them both for thinking of me. They reignited the romantic spirit within me so once we were finished with the shopping, I quickly headed to Adam's apartment.
