Emily stooped trying to fight her exhaustion, closed her heavy eyelids and allowed herself to drift off to "sleep."She felt both physically and emotionally exhausted from her dreadful Esperance in the fog tonight.
The dream was the same one she had had before. She tried to pull herself awake and out of it as she had taught herself to do over the last few months, but it was too late.
The dream was rushing down on her, swiping her, and she was already lost in it.
Darkness covered the sky as a foreboding statue looking man stood in front of her large bay windows inside of her Livingroom.
The man held an aggressive expression across his shape looking face as he greeted and walked behind her, "My little Emily. You're lovelier, then a spring dawning dewdrop, " his lips murmured, gently moving her long mahogany hair away from her neck.
"Please...don't do this?" She flinched away, feeling his searing touch against her skin as the first tendrils of fear began to curl around her heart.
He angrily gripped both of her arms forcefully pulling her to his stile chest, "Because Emily, you belong to me. I have chosen you to carry my seed."
Panic, shock, and disbelief gripped hold of Emily's throat giving her voice a hoarse, choked sound that seemed to echo around the room, "No! No!"
His arms wrapped around her stomach, "For God's sake," he grounded out, "Grow up Emily!"
"No! No!" She kicked, thrashed at him and screamed.
Emily was startled awake from her nightmare and felt a heaviness across her lower body.
She pulled the bedspread back and almost lost her stomach when she looked at the engorged maggots nesting inside her bed.
She froze, petrified from the sickening sight.
A thunderous scream ripped past her lips, as she rolled off the side of her bed.Emily hastily brushed off the maggots and crawled herself inside her bathroom and locked the door behind her.
Her body pressed against the door, "Why? Why are you doing this? Please...leave me alone!" Her legs came up to her chest as she cried.
An hour later the sun rays began to finally peek through her bathroom window.
Emily pilled herself off the cold bathroom floor and began to get herself ready for work.
She stood inside the bathroom mustering up her courage before going back inside her bedroom and opened the door.
Apprehensively she glanced around the room before leaving the safety of the bathroom.
She nervously walked over to the nightmarish bed and thoroughly examined it.Emily was beside herself nothing was out of sorts, "I must be losing my frigging mind," her hands came up and cradled her face.
On her way to work she had already decided, after breakfast, she would go to the library and do some research.
She couldn't keep living here like this, with the nightly nightmares, the gruesome hallucinations.
When the Whispers came back, Emily caved in and confided in Linda about her gift.
After breakfast, Emily pulled Linda to the kitchen, "I have to leave for a few hours.
You're in charge until I come back if you need anything, anything at all I will be at the Library," she hung up her apron on the wall hook next to her office door.
