Lucy was leaning against her window sill reading a book. She was trying to gain ideas for her own novel, The Adventure of Iris. Most of time, Lucy was found either reading, studying, or writing. It was truly her calling.
She also had a lot of knowledge. She read encyclopedias, dictionaries, anything to gain more intelligence for her own reading. Her English teachers would tell her that she needed better descriptive words, so she frequently read a book all about adjectives.
Lucy was happy with her life. She had the best of friends, her novel was coming along well, and she had Natsu. It was unfortunate that she lost her job, but maybe it was for the better. She hoped to find a better job where she can enjoy herself and also earn money.
Someone banged on Lucy's door while she was deep into thought concerning the plot of her novel. She groaned and dropped her book and walked toward the door. When she opened the door, no one was there. She stepped out and look around, no one.
Just before Lucy was about to close the door, she saw a small piece of paper on the ground. She looked around the hallway once more just in case. She then picked up the paper, which was an envelope with a letter inside.
Lucy closed the door to her apartment and locked it just in case. She wasn't expecting a letter, so it was quite a shock. When she opened it, there was writing in very messy yet fancy writing.
Dear my beloved Lucy,
I was quite ashamed by your previous actions at the ball. You know that it was a business deal, my sweet, so I cannot comprehend why you believed it would be a decent idea to flee. Because of your actions, I will have to take action myself, which was my last resort. It was because of you that this must happen. See you soon, Lucy.
Jude.
Lucy's hands quivered at the letter. See you soon. Her fingers trembled and lost grip of the letter. It dropped to the ground. The words seemed to be drilling into Lucy's head. They stared directly into her soul.
Just when Lucy thought she had escaped the labyrinth, she was brought right back into the center with no sense of direction. She lost all her senses, she had no idea which way was right or left. Everything was nothing but a blank.

Lucy stayed inside all day long. She hated it since she enjoyed the outdoors so much, but she knew that it was for the better. She got multiple texts from Natsu, asking if she wanted to hang out, but Lucy ignored every single one of them.
Finally, Natsu got tired of Lucy ignoring him, so he decided to call. The two barely ever spoke during a call, so it was awkward for the both of them.
"What's wrong?" Natsu asked through the other line. Lucy felt awkward since his voice was so muffled and odd through the phone.
"Why?" Lucy said awkwardly. She knew exactly why Natsu was worried, but she didn't want to admit it. She didn't want to get Natsu involved in this mess any more than he already was.
"You haven't been answering," he said sadly. "I worry about you, you know." Lucy could tell how disappointed and worried Natsu was even through the phone's speakers. The shakiness of his voice, the disappointment in the vocal chords, everything.
"I just haven't been feeling well lately," Lucy said, rubbing the nape of her neck. "Maybe seasonal allergies? I'm really not sure." She hated lying to Natsu because he was always able to call her out for it, and because the trust between the two broke a little every time she lied.
"I hope you feel better, Luce." He spoke into the phone. "Hey, maybe I can make you ramen? Hot food is supposed to heal colds and stuff like that." Lucy couldn't help but smile at the fact that Natsu wanted to help, but she knew that she should decline. It was too dangerous, Jude was always up to something evil.
