finding a shelter from the continuous pouring rain was not easy, for acres upon acres there was grass. only grass.
where the heck were they?
they didnt know a thing about where they were. maybe taking a possible shortcut to rogueport was the best thing: but the thing is, there were no pipes to go into to return.
"i found something we can hide under!" mario exclaimed, pointing to a bench, shielded by a wooden bus stop looking thing.
it most likely was a bus stop, but no buses would be here this early in the morning. it was most likely abandoned. and they were fine with it.
"you did? finally, i hate this rain!" vivian took a glance beyond mario and saw the wooden bench, and rushed to it, sighing a sigh of relief. mario got to it too, but slower than her. he didnt rush to it like she did.
"rain sounds nice. but walking in it isnt nice...at all. sounds can deceive." mario said, looking at the rain. the two sat down on the bench, finally slowly drying off, and watching and listening ot the rainfall, feeling at peace.
"...i havent felt this at peace in a long while. feels nice." vivian looked up at the dull, but relaxing sky and smiled warmly.
"i have to be honest, me either. im usually stuck saving this princess all the time from a...what can you call him...villain, i guess? so peace isnt really common for me."
"i dont know what you do, but it sounds like a fairy tale.
"sort of like that."

half an hour passed, and the rain finally stopped.
"i think it stopped." mario stood up and walked away from the bench, to hold his hand out again to check if rain was going to fall on it. "yeah, its stopped."
"aw, yay! took you long enough, weather." vivian stepped out, relieved that she and mario could finally progress and carry on.
there were four paths, two beyond them and two beside them.
"uh...where do we go...mario, you have any ideas...?"
"my instincts are telling me that we should go...that way!" he pointed to the left path beyond the two.
"are you sure? we might not have chosen the right path..."
"we'll be fine, and even if we do go the wrong way im sure we'll get back here. cmon!" he smiled and ventured forward, making vivian smile too.
"your smile is really contagious, you do know that, right?"
...mario looked at her, saying nothing. he had a surprised look on his face.
dangit! she thought. oh, gosh...i probably ruined everything again. i dont know what i expected...
"ahahah, sorry...that sounded stupid."
"no, its okay! i just dont get told that a lot, and it surprised me. thank you!"
"oh- i- uh- youre welcome-" she quickly spat out what she had to say before covering her face with embarrassment.
why was she so nervous and stuttery all of a sudden?

3 hours passed, and they finally got to where they wanted to go: rogueport.
them two had been talking the whole time, yet vivian had been thinking about mario a lot and smiling whenever she did, imagining his smile and hoping to god it was all genuine. but she was also scared about how their friendship would turn out.
would those two grow distant?
would they become best friends? maybe even more?
she would prefer it that they do...become...more than just friends.
wait.
their friendship had only lasted less than a day...but what are those...feelings?
love? or something common?
this feeling might be love.
romantic, love.
the butterflies in her stomach intensified.
