Alone (Sasunaru)

Chapter 35

Sasuke and Itachi walked up to her and stood on either side of her. They all cracked their knuckles and smirked.

"Here we go!"

Sasuke saw a pink-haired woman in front of him. He knew all too well who she was. He didn't know where he was. It was very light around with little white lights around. Like stars. Very pretty. He ran towards the woman shouting to get her attention.

"Sakura!" The woman stopped walking and turned around. Surely enough it was Sakura. Sasuke ran up to her and caught up to her. Sasuke panted for a bit and then looked straight into the emerald green eyes he once loved. 

"What's up Sasuke-kun?" Sasuke looked at her in confusion.

"What do you mean, what's up? Do you know the situation you're in? Why did you do it? And making a contract with the enemy. And the Otsutsuki clan out of all people?! Why Sakura? Why?? Tell me why!" Sakura looked taken back. She then looked at the ground guiltily with her hands behind her back. She then sat down on to the milky white floor. She looked up to Sasuke. 

"Sit down. This story will be long. Don't worry. I won't do anything to you." Sasuke cautiously sat down next to her. A good few centimeters away from her. Just in case. 

"So, what do you want to know?" The sweet voice said. The voice he once loved. It could've been a cover-up. Yes. After all, she's done. 

"Sasuke-kun? What's wrong? Don't you want to know?" Sasuke quickly shook out of his thoughts. 

"First off, where are we?"

"Well, we're in the world between reality and dream. Our mindsets are linked. Like this." Sakura said while tapping both pointer fingers together. 

"Okay. So, why did you do it? And I think you know what I mean. Answer me Sakura. Please." Sakura nodded and looked into the sky. Or ground. Sasuke didn't know anymore. 

"Well, it all started when you left. I was very understanding that you had to leave. For the world's sake. And the village as well. When you did come back I was very happy. Although you came back, you were still busy with work. When you proposed to me I was beyond delighted. My childhood dream came true. I was finally with the one that I loved. When we slept together that night, I couldn't ask for more. To start my family again. It was all I wanted. But you left again. And then my hopes disappeared very quickly. Don't get me wrong though. I still loved you. It's just you were gone for so long." 

Sasuke looked at the ground with guilt. He knew that he was hurting Sakura in some way. And he hated it. Sakura continued talking. 

"Then, the dark side of me took control of my body. It was like I was controlled by someone. And then it was too late for me to realize, that Black Zetsu had made a pact with my body and had taken control of my good self. You came back again but when I came to see you during work I saw you and Naruko talking together about work. I could see it in your eyes. You two were laughing with each other. You had a look on your face that you never gave anyone. Not even me. I knew my dream wasn't complete yet. Zetsu took advantage of the situation and set me up to organize a meeting with Momoshiki. Momoshiki gave me a deal. To make my dream come true. But with a price. My greed and lust took over me, swallowing my good side and I didn't care anymore. So, I started to sleep with other guys as a replacement until you had come home. Before I knew it I became pregnant. I had gotten the tests results in the day before you temporarily came back home. I made sure that I would sleep with you on the same day since I couldn't let the child go. And then I had tricked you thinking it was your child. Before I knew it you disappeared again. Sarada was a good girl. Zetsu laid low inside of me until it was time to strike again. And so, there's the whole story." 

Sasuke couldn't say anything. Her story was so sad because of him. He couldn't help but feel even more guilty. 

"Ne, Sasuke-kun... Do you have anyone you like? Besides me?" Sasuke's attention was grasped and looked at Sakura in shock.

"What...do you mean?..." 

"Someone who makes your heart beat fast. Someone who warms you up inside. Someone that gives you a unique feeling that no one else can give you. Someone that is important to you. Someone that you want to love more than friends. Romantically. You know, that type of stuff." 

Sasuke was speechless. What was she talking about? Sakura smiled at him and then stood up. She stretched for a bit and then looked back at Sasuke.

"It's Naruko isnt't it?" Sasuke's eyes widened. He stood up.

"N-no, it's not like that! We're just partners! That's all!" Sakura giggled. It wasn't like Sasuke to get all flustered. Before Sasuke could protest again. Sakura started glowing. Tips of her fingers turned into little gold flying dust. She looked at Sasuke.

"Looks like it's my time to go."

"NO! Where are you going Sakura? Come back to us!"

"Sasuke-kun, I'm really glad to have met you! But, it's no use. I'm already dead." Before Sakura disappeared Sasuke heard a few last words from her. 

"Find your true love Sasuke-kun...Find her..."

Sasuke woke up in cold sweat. His breathing was unstable. He looked around him. He was in a blank room. Very boring. Cold grey walls. It was too much to bear. He then looked down at his hands. He was in a hospital bed. Where? Suddenly he heard the door slide open and he heard a gasp. It was Tsunade. She rushed over to him and asked him questions. Sasuke answered them perfectly fine. The door was slid open once again. Sasuke was about to be released and then he saw Itachi panting. Itachi ran over to Sasuke and panted while he put his hands on to his knees. 

"Naruko.."

Sasuke's eyes widened.

What happened to Naruko?...
