Than to just serve the purpose
Of meeting someone's expectations

Yet strike you down when it is
Not what appeals to their taste buds
They chew you up vigorously
And spit you out like you are nothing
Your existence is irrelevant
How do they expect you to be
Yourself if they make you hate
Who you are?
If you mess up your lines in their show
Or take a misstep in their play
You are not 'normal'
But 'normal' is being the same as
Everyone else
So if you are the same as everyone else
How can you possibly be yourself?
