SATURDAY COULDN'T COME any sooner in Juliet's opinion. She was excited yet nervous for what the day would bring.
Her first date.
Rowan arrived to pick her up around midday, ringing the doorbell.
Juliet had been sitting in her room, scrolling through the internet, at the time and when she heard the loud ring she had jumped to her feet, grabbing her purse.
She practically ran down the hallway and towards the door. Her mum, who was in the kitchen, raised her eyebrows at the girl's haste.
"You look excited." She smiled.
"I'm going out with a friend, we're seeing a movie." Juliet told her
"Well, I hope you enjoy your movie. Love you." Her mum waved her off.
"Bye, mum." Juliet opened the door to see her date.
"A rose for milady." Rowan immediately passed a beautiful, vibrant red rose into Juliet's hands.
Juliet took a whiff of it, the fragrance very evident and beautiful. "A rose by any other name would smell as sweet." She joked.
Rowan laughed before offering a hand of which Juliet took, closing the door behind her. They walked towards Rowan's car and the owner opened the passenger door, gesturing for her date to enter.
Juliet blushed lightly before stepping into the vehicle, brushing down her skirt.
Rowan closed the door before walking around to her side and getting in. "You ready?" She asked.
"As I'll ever be." Juliet replied.
Then, the car started and they drove off.
They got to the local cinema around ten minutes after their departure from Juliet's house. Rowan was the first to get out before opening Juliet's door for her. She definitely was a gentlelady.
"Thank you." Juliet smiled as she exited the vehicle.
"Any time." Rowan shut the door softly, locking the car.
The two began to make their way towards the shopping centre. After making it around half way through the car park, Juliet slipped her hand into Rowan's.
Then, they were in the shopping centre. Juliet felt a slight pang of self consciousness due to the publicity but she held her head high and pulled through.
