Chapter Ten
Lips And Palm
I walked out of Sams car, waving the nerd a goodbye as he drove away from my street. My eyes fell to the lock screen as I checked the time on my phone. I couldn't help but wince.
I'm hells late and I'm grounded, Nina will not be pleased, she expects me to be home exactly after school but she still doesn't know about the art thing. If she knows I was almost expelled she'll kill me. Literally.
I sighed, I'm so not in the mood of her talk today.
I walked to the front porch and hesitantly knocked but I instantly regretted it a second later when an angry Nina stood behind the door with a scowl on her face and a slipper in her hand.
"Where were you?" Nina screeched once I stepped inside, "you were supposed to be home early. Have you forgotten you are grounded?!"
"Listen woman, go get a boyfriend and bother him. I'm not in the mood," I tell her and walk to my room with out giving her a glance.
"Nichole-"
I slammed the door and locked it with the key. This woman needs to get laid.
Oh, well. At least she forgot to use the slipper.
I trudge tiredly to my bed and fall on the mattress. My mind went back to the bet I had with Sam this afternoon. I shouldn't have agreed to it, if I fail I'll have to go back, and I can't.
Tears filled my eyes as I glanced at the small framed picture near my bed. I stared at my moms face and suddenly the tears left my eyes, I smiled. Damn she was hot, that's my momma.
Going back will just bring my bad past, that bad past that I narrowly escaped. Why the hell does Sam want me to go back anyways?
I could just back down from the deal, but this is a challenge, to make matters more serious I started this challenge, and I'm not gonna forfeit.
I just wish if I end up going back, those monsters aren't still looking for me and my demons are not as strong as they used to be.

"What the hell are you doing?! I said move it to the left!"
I gave him another glare, "I just did!"
"Not that left! The other left!"
"There is no other left!"
"Yes there is!"
"Do you guys have any food?"
I turn my head to my friend, he sat on one of the chairs, doing whatever in his phone. My nostrils flared, "aren't you supposed to be helping me?!" I yell at him.
Sam decided the best way to start the day was to re decorate the place. By redecorate I mean move all the really heavy furniture. I'm a strong girl, but these stuff are heavier than they look. We both haven't said a word about the bet yesterday, but neither of us had forgotten. It's still on.
"Sam gave me a lunch break, he said I was working too hard."
"You haven't done anything since we got here!"
He shrugged, "don't worry, I'll help you soon, I've got twenty minutes left."
I groaned and turned my head to a smirking Sam Ryan, "tired already?"
I narrowed my eyes at him, "you wish Lucy."
He rolled his eyes, "could you not call me that?"
"What? Lucy?" I asked innocently, "then what else should I call you? Kimberly?"
He winced, "why pick girl names?"
"Because I can."
"You don't have the right to say that, I'm above you now."
I let out a dry laugh, "you and I both know that I'm the only important one here. You, are just the background."
He looked amused, "oh really." He said, "and I thought I had a big ego."
"You do, I just speak the truth."
"The only truth you've said is that there is only one kind of left."
"That's you're comeback? I thought you were better than this Lucy."
"I'm better than you."
"You wish-"
"Enough!" Nelly walked through the door, fingers on her temples, "the whole studio has been hearing you guys argue for thirty minutes straight."
"It's all her fault," Sam says suddenly and I glare at him.
"Me!? Or maybe next time you should be more literal about what kind of left you want!"
"Actually-"
"Stop! Please." Nelly interrupted, "Sam you have to go buy a few supplies," she turned to me, "and you're going too."
I shrugged, "whatever."
"Good, you can go give headaches to the staff there, I'm exhausted." She gave Sam a list.
I roll my eyes and glance at the list, "I thought you said a few, there's like fourty things here."
"Perfect, another hour with this one," I hear Sam mutter sarcastically.
"You guys should start going, so you can finish in time," Nelly advises and he turns to me.
"She's right, let's go." Sam says suspiciously brighter, leading Nelly and I out.
"Good luck," Nelly says and struts her small self away.
We both are on our way to the exit before we pause after realising we forgot something.
"Oh right, my Sam."
