It was then that Yoongi understood what was going on.
That kid was their son. The two clients had lied, saying their son died because of their ties to Jin, hoping to get mercy and the permission to leave the organisation to live a normal family life... They were not that lucky. As he watched this kid, who strangely enough had not woken up despite the gun shot, Yoongi felt something he hadn't felt before in his field of work. He felt guilt.
This wasn't the first time he and his brother had killed people, far from it. But it was the first time they had killed a child's parents.
Yoongi wasn't a good person, that's for certain, but he had never been cruel enough to ruin a kid's life...not like Jin.He took his phone and called his brother.
"Joon come upstairs, we have a problem." Yoongi whispered, careful not to wake the child.
"Why are you whispering?"
"Don't ask questions, just get up here."
Just a few minute later, Namjoon was in the bedroom and looked at the child.
"What's wrong?"
"What do you mean what's wrong, there's a kid in front of us and we just gunned down his parents." Yoongi said, still whispering.
"How can you be sure this is their son?"
"Because it doesn't an IQ of 148 to figure it out, dumbass."
"Ok and? What are you waiting for to get rid of him? That's what we came here to do." Namjoon said.
"I'm not gonna kill an innocent kid!" Yoongi said, shooting a dark look at his brother.
There was a time Namjoon wouldn't even bring up the possibility of killing a child, now he didn't think twice about it.
Yoongi was watching his brother lose himself because of Jin..."Listen, I'm not in the mood to lose my time over some kid, I've got my own kid waiting for me at home. So either you get rid of him and we go home together or you can stay here to do whatever the hell you want but I'm taking the car and leaving." Namjoon explained.
"Okay I got it, you don't give a fuck about the kid, just leave you're getting on my nerves."
"You're on your own to get home." Namjoon said as he left the room.
"Dickhead.."
"Who?" Hoseok asked as he woke up.
"Oh fu- I didn't see you wake up, you scared me... Tell me, did you hear that conversation?" Yoongi asked, worried that the kid might have heard that he could get killed.
"What conversation? You can't have a conversation, you're alone. And I was sleeping!" Hoseok answered seemingly unbothered by the fact that a total stranger was in his bedroom.
"Uh sure, yeah you're right, forget what I said. Listen I don't know why you're so cool with a stranger being in your bedroom but I am uh- a friend. Of your parents, a friend of your parents. They had an emergency and were forced to leave very suddenly but they called me to take care of you... I don't know when they'll be back so you're gonna stay with me, okay?" Yoongi said, he wasn't sure the kid would buy it, his excuse was a bad one and he knew it. But he decided that he liked the kid enough to take him in.
After all raising a kid can't be that hard, right? If Namjoon and Jin can do it.Surprisingly enough, the kid agreed to Yoongi's "offer" without asking any questions. A weird one he was.
"Get dressed, I have to make a phone call and then I'll help you pack your suitcase."
"Ok." Hoseok obliged.
Yoongi took his phone and called one of the henchmen.
"Hello?" The man said.
"Get over here I need you to pick me up... and we have a guest.
"A gu-" Yoongi didn't wait for him to finish his sentence and hung up.
"And so what's your name mister?" Hoseok asked.
"Yoongi. And please don't call me mister... What about you?"
"I'm Hoseok! But my parents also call me Hobi!" The boy answered with a big heart-shaped smile.
"Ok then Hoseok, go get your toiletries in the bathroom and I'll take care of your clothes." Yoongi said.
The boy didn't lose a second and ran to the bathroom. When he came back, Yoongi was almost done with the clothes. He didn't pack much, of the kid needed something new he would just buy it. Besides he wanted to hurry, the henchman he had called would be there any minute.
"There you go, out in your toiletries and we're good to go."Hoseok did as he was told.
Yoongi suddenly remembered he had to find a way to get Hoseok out of the house without having him see his parents bodies.
"Uh... okay come here." Yoongi told the boy as he extended his arms in front of him.
Hoseok understood what his friend was asking of him so he extended his arms as well and walked towards him. Yoongi picked him up under his arms and carried him in his own.
He held him with one arm and took this suitcase with the other."It's cold outside so make sure to keep your head in my neck." Yoongi said.
He went down the stairs and managed to pass by the bodies without Hoseok seeing them. Outside, the man Yoongi had called was waiting for them. Before he could say anything, Yoongi gestured for him to stay silent.
He put Hoseok down and told him to get in the car. He put the suitcase in the trunk and turned to his employee.
"Give me the keys, I'm driving."
The two men got in the car and Yoongi drove off, taking the car ride as an opportunity to get to know Hoseok a little bit better.
