"enam puluh lapan, enam puluh sembilan," Ivan was counting the items to see if he put the correct amount. ("Sixty eight , sixty nine" )
It was a chilly night, no sight of human outside. It was 3 AM anyway so Ivan doesn't think anyone in their right mind would be outside. Besides, the cold temperature was not really suitable for some late-night outdoor activities.
Ivan's eyes were closing ever so slightly at times, he almost dropped to the floor sleeping. But he told himself that he needs to stay conscious. It was almost 4 in the morning, he and Kamal already made a deal on who should sleep at this hour and who should sleep at the next hour. Kamal was supposed to work at 4 in the morning and then Ivan can sleep peacefully at the time.
Ivan admitted that it was very terrifying standing behind the counter alone at 3 in the morning, anything could happen honestly. What if a robber came? Will he survive? What if he gets killed? Will everything be okay? Will his parents be disappointed in him? So many questions but there were no answers.
Not to mention, it was an arduous trying to stay awake. He drank his tea to keep him awake. He had always hated how coffee tastes. He doesn't like that bitter taste and the sensation on your tongue after you drank a cup of it. He was really not a fan of it.
Suddenly, his eyes flicked into the window near the entrance. There was a man. Ivan only got to see his back because he was facing the opposite direction of Ivan. The man's body was impressively massive. His broad shoulders and his height. He is definitely not an Asian. Listen, he didn't mean to be so stereotypical but it's the truth.
Moreover, the skin of the mysterious guy was really pale white. Something that was hard to find in Asia. The media may have exposed Asian as that pale white-skinned, but the truth is. Many Asians don't really have that pale white skin. Ivan was not that pale either, he embraced his tanned bronze skin even though it was not considered as beautiful among the Asian.
Ivan's heart was beating furiously when the mysterious man suddenly turned around. Ivan cursed at the night for being too dark. For some reasons, he just really want to see that man's face. But because of the pitch-black night, the mysterious man face was undetectable.
Realized that he was being idiotic for staring at someone for such a long time, he continues doing his work. Arranging and counting stuff.
Ding dong
The sensor alarm suddenly going on indicating that someone must've entered the store. Ivan eyes followed the sound and soon find himself feeling apprehensive at the sight of that mysterious man features that are now standing in front of him.
Yup, he was right. He's not an Asian. He is white, with that creamy pale skin that looks so tender to the touch. He got that strong masculine features, those high cheekbones with that strong jawline. Plus, those bushy but not slovenly brows. Those thick lashes that Ivan guaranteed can fly you away through cloud nine.
His eyes were the colour of a blue sky. It looks vibrant combined with his luminous glowing skin. Ivan finds himself drooling over that man. This man was a blessing! His girlfriend must've been the luckiest person ever. He thought, who doesn't want to date such a hot guy?
The mysterious man mouth opened slightly and then closed as he tried to think of words to form. He was not from here, he is fairly not familiar with the place yet. His Malay language was not that very good either so he was scared and nervous. What if he messed up?
