"Tessa? You home?" She yelled as she walked through the front door. Greeted by silence she knew Tessa was still out. Probably another late night at the office. She was a lawyer, but not a big shot lawyer. She was the one they appointed to you during a court hearing if you couldn't afford one. She's damn good at her job and since most of her clientele are Serpents, she's basically their God. Getting them out Scott-free whenever they get pulled in for something stupid, which happens more often than not.
Knowing Sweet Pea would be making an appearance soon, she took the opportunity to pick up around the house. Making sure the guest room had plenty of blankets and pillows. He was going to be staying here until the Ghoulie situation blew over or the Serpents finally figured out a way to end it once and for all; whichever comes first, so she at least want him to be comfortable.
A knock at the front door let her know Sweet Pea had arrived. She peeked through the peephole to be on the safe side and sure enough, the tall tanned Serpent was standing at the front door, duffel bag thrown over his shoulder. Of course he was missing the leather jacket, making him appear softer, but definitely still attractive.
"Hello, handsome." She greeted, opening the door, "welcome to my humble abode. Nothing like the Southside, but I hope you find yourself at home here. Lord knows how long you'll be here." She gestured for him to come in, shutting the door behind him as he brushed past. He paused, looking around the front room. Walking up behind him, she placed a hand on his shoulder, "come on, I'll show you your room."
He followed her up the stairs, taking a second to appreciate the view as she walked in front of him. He shook his dirty thoughts out of his head, remembering what Johnny-boy said about cutting anyone's tongue who touched her.
"Your room is across the hall from mine, Tessa's room is down the hall and the bathroom is next to my room. Tessa has her own so you only have to worry about sharing with one girl." She pushed open the door to the guest room that will now belong to Sweet Pea and switched on the light, "Like i said, make yourself at home." She plopped down to lay on the bed. He dropped his duffle bag on the bed next to her before sitting on the end looking at her.
"Great. Now let's get to the important stuff, where's the food?" He asked.
She let out a soft laugh, "I'll go get dinner started. Tessa should be home soon and i'll explain Johnny's little babysitter idea to her then." she climbed off the bed and walked back downstairs.
Sweet Pea threw his clothes into the dresser drawers, hanging some up in the closet. He didn't bring much, thinking if he needed anything else he could just have Fangs or Toni bring it to him. He grabbed his serpent jacket he couldn't bring himself to leave at his trailer hanging it up and putting it to the back of the closet. He walked out of his room heading downstairs. As Sweet Pea walked down the steps, he could hear music coming from the kitchen. Following the sound, he found her still in her River Vixen practice outfit, dancing to the beat as she cooked what smells like chicken on the stove. Sweet Pea smirked and leaned against the fridge watching as she moved her hips. She, being too caught up in making sure she didn't burn anything, hadn't heard him walk in. She turned to plate the chicken, finally noticing the boy's presence.
"Like what you see, Handsome?" She said jokingly, recapping his question earlier when he caught her checking him out at the Wyrm.
"Don't know how Johnny expects me to keep my hands to myself when you look damn good in those shorts." He replied catching onto her joke. He walked over to stand in front of her. Closer than she expected.
"What Johnny doesn't know won't hurt him." She murmured looking up at him. Sweet Pea grabbed your chin softly angling her face more so her lips were almost touching. "Maybe not, but it'll hurt me if he ever found out." Sweet Pea said as a matter of fact. Her phone started ringing, breaking up the moment.
"Hi Tess." She answered.
"Baby, hi. It looks like it's going to be a late night for me here. You going to be okay alone tonight?" She asked sounding exhausted.
"Yeah, i'll be okay. I'm actually not alone. Johnny has assigned a personal security guard to me, but i'll explain that to you tomorrow morning. Don't overwork yourself." She were concerned with the many late nights your Aunt has been working lately, hoping she would soon catch a break to get some much needed sleep and eat something other than take out.
"What did that boy get into this time?" She exhaled loudly, "Anyway, yeah we'll go get some breakfast at Pop's tomorrow. I gotta go, much work to do. Love you."
"Love you too." She hung up, sitting her phone back on the counter. "Well, looks like it's just you and i tonight, Sweet Pea."
"I can live with that." He smirked still standing close to her.
She shook her head, clicking her tongue in fake disappointment, "You're treading on thin ice there, Sweets. What would Johnny-boy say?" Amused by the playful flirting between the two of them.
"Oh i'm not going to sleep with you, Elle. Just having a little fun." He winked.
"Are you all unpacked and settled in?" She asked changing the subject before the conversation got the two in trouble. Sweet Pea nodded in response.
"Good! Now go sit down. I'll bring your food over." She said stirring the pasta one last time before scooping some onto each plate.
"How long have you lived with your Aunt?" Sweet Pea asked taking a bite of his pasta.
"My whole life. It's always been just the two of us." She answered looking at Sweet Pea who gave her a look of confusion. "Johnny and our dad would visit often. We'd always meet in Greendale for lunch or dinner almost weekly. Sometimes my Aunt would organize day trips to the zoo or amusement parks so that i still had a relationship with them. Even if i did live on the Northside away from all things Serpents and Southside." She explained knowing he was wondering how her and Johnny could be so close if it has always just been her and Tessa.
"Why did they send you to the Northside with your Aunt in the first place?" He questioned.
"That is a story I don't actually have all the details to. Johnny likes to keep secrets no matter how close we are." Sweet Pea nodded understandingly.
"What about you, Sweet Pea?" She asked turning the tables onto him.
"What about me?"
"Tell me about you. If we're going to live in the same house, we might as well get to know each other." She took a sip of your water waiting for his answer.
"There's not much to tell. The Serpents are the closest thing to family i have. There's Toni and Fangs, i guess. We've been inseparable since the day we were born." She assumed he was talking about the other attractive guy and the pink haired girl he was standing with at the Wyrm earlier that night. Sweet Pea obviously doesn't like talking about his life so she didn't push her limits.
When they both finished dinner, she gathered up the dishes and sat them in the sink to clean up tomorrow. Both of them heading upstairs for the night.
