Chapter 6

Grace's POV

"Grace, wake up!" Someone said, shaking me, "Five more minutes..." I murmured, "Hey!" I yelped as Jonah picked me out of bed, "It worked on Svea and Esther when they were your age." He said laughing as I pretended to sleep in his arms, "Who?" I asked, "My little sisters, get dressed, but don't count on edible breakfast, Zach's cooking." He said putting me down, I laughed and nodded. I quickly got dressed in my overalls and a blue T-shirt with little white flowers and hearts. I climbed down the ladder dropping my bag at the base. I walked downstairs, and wrinkled my nose. "Now I understand why Jonah said not to count on anything edible. What did Zach try to make?" I asked sitting down next to Jack, "Looks like it used to be eggs." Daniel said poking at his plate, "To the rescue!" Corbyn coming in with bowls, spoons, cereal and milk. "Be there in a moment!" Zach said running past us with a fire extinguisher. I laughed along with the others. Zach came back out and put the extinguisher down. "Disaster started and stopped." He panted, "Good call on the cereal Corbyn." He said sitting down next to me. "I think you might be a worse cook than me, and I'm 8!" I joked, he fake glared at me, "Hey, at least I know how to turn on the stove!" He said, "At least I know how to use it." I said taking a spoonful of cereal. "I am liking this kid more by the minute." Daniel said as Jack choked on his cereal, "You good bro?" Jonah laughed slapping him on the back, he nodded, "You are funny!" He said pointing at me, I smiled "Thanks." I checked my watch, "I gotta go soon, it's almost 8:15." I said getting up and grabbing my dish, "Sink." Corbyn said in response to my confused look, "Your school starts at 9 though." Jonah said, "I walk, and I wanna get there early." I explained, he nodded. I ran upstairs to get my bag and my letter for Noah. "Hey Grace! Do you know the way to your school?" Jonah called from downstairs, "Not exactly from here, but I know the street it's on and it's a few blocks from here!" I called back walking downstairs. "Do you mind if Jack walks you?" He asked, "I would but we have a recording session today and Jack is the only one who can get there late." I nodded, "I don't mind, I normally walk with Noah anyways." I said walking to the door, "Wait a moment!" Jack called coming over with a hoodie. "What's that for? It's almost 90 degrees out there." I said, "Remember how we're famous!" He asked putting the hoodie on, I nodded, "Ohh. That makes sense." I said dropping my letter in the mailbox on the corner. "While a blonde white dude won't draw attention, my hair makes me pretty recognizable." He explained as we walked, I nodded. "My school is right there; LA K-12." I said pointing. "That must be hectic, does your friend Noah go here?" Jack asked, I nodded, "He's right there!" I said and pointed towards him. "One of us is going to pick you up here around 3:30 to 3:40, K?" Jack reminded me I nodded, "Bye!" I said running off. I waved to Noah, but he didn't wave back, I shrugged it off walking over to Cassie. "Hey Cass! Heard you got adopted by Logan, how's that going?" I asked hugging her. She smiled, "Good, I'm still getting used to the camera, but Kong is so much cuter in real life!" I laughed, "Guess what?" I said as we sat down, "What?" Cassie asked, "I got adopted too!" I exclaimed, Cassie smiled, "That's amazing! Good for you, by who?" She asked, "Five teenagers, Jonah, Corbyn, Daniel, Jack, and Zach. They're a band together." I explained, Cassie's jaw dropped, "You're kidding, those are their names?" She asked, I nodded confused, "You got adopted by the Why Don't We boys! They make music with Logan all the time!" She exclaimed, I jumped up, "That's so cool!" I said as the beginning bell rang.
