Chapter 11

I woke up in the nurse's office to the beeping of a phone. "Oh you're awake." The nurse covering the mouthpiece, I looked around. "What happened?" I asked, she shrugged. "You blacked out I guess." She looked at the "Well no duh!" look I was giving her and sighed, "I'm the school nurse not the recap fairy. Get to class." She said opening the door, I walked out and up to the 3rd grade wing. I knocked on my classroom door and Laila opened it. She glared at me but let me in. "Oh Grace! You're here, that's amazing! We switched seats so you now sit in seat 4D with Hailey, Cassie and Laila." Mrs.Lan said pointing to my new seat. I walked over celebrating and dying internally. I was with Hailey and Cassie, but also Laila, and she is self explanatory. I sat down, and awaited the worst.

I got through the morning fine, a couple of death glares from Laila but nothing too bad. "Grace? Grace? Are you listening?" Mrs.Lan said snapping me out of my thoughts. I looked up and nodded, "Ok, like I was saying, we have a group project that you will be working on with your tables. So for example table 4, seats A, B, C, and D will be working together to do a project on a timeline of something. Now you could do a timeline of architecture, visual art, music, even weapons or clothing. Just keep it E rated." She explained, I was starting to fall asleep, but the word music grabbed me again. I exchanged a look with Hailey and Cassie, we knew our topic.

I couldn't wait until class let out, and when it did I ran straight to Cassie and Hailey. "We doing music?" I asked they nodded smiling, "To the library!" Cassie said marching off, "I'm getting picked up, but we can work at my house!" I reminded her, she turned around. "To Grace's house!" we laughed and followed her for a little until Hailey stopped, "Wait! Guys we need to work with Laila, remember?" She reminded us sadly, "Why so sad dorks? You get to work with yours truly!" Laila said walking up to us, "Why so happy? You have to see real friends interacting!" Cassie whispered, Hailey and I giggled stopping at her glare. "Well anyway, we decided to do a timeline of music, because Cassie and I both live with musicians, so we're gonna start our research now..." I said, the others nodded, "And you kinda have to come..." Cassie said, "Yeah no one here wants a bad grade..." Hailey said, we were all beating around the bush, and it was obvious. "Fine, but keep your boyfriend off me, I don't want a repeat of last week." Laila snapped, I growled a little and Cassie prepared to hold me back. "As long as you don't try to beat me up again, none of my brothers should have any problem with you." I said as Daniel walked up. "Hey Grace, and company of course." He said, "Hey Daniel! This is Cassie, from break, and Hailey and Laila, we have a group project together that we need to research." I explained, elbowing Hailey at the look she was giving him. He gave me a confused look, "I thought Laila..." He began, I cut him of by mouthing later. "Ok then, they can come over I guess. Let's hurry though..." he said starting to walk, Cassie, Hailey and I ran to catch up with him and we started talking. "So why again is that girl with us?" He asked, "We have a project, she's in our group." Cassie explained, "She's in third grade, right?" Daniel asked, we nodded confused. "She acts and dresses like she's in 8th." He said, "We know, she's the only kid in our grade with a phone, iPad, and computer!" Hailey said, Daniel smirked a little, "Talk about a spoiled brat.." he joked as we neared the house, we laughed. "Ugh, do you live here?" We heard Laila say, "No, this is a fake house that is fully furnished and has fake people inside it. Like this one!" Daniel joked, opening the door and knocking Jack's head as he walked past. "Watch it long neck." Jack laughed pushing Daniel away, "Same to you noodles!" Daniel said winking at us, "Oh you're in for it now!" Jack said chasing Daniel off. "Hey Grace- ok more kids than I- what the hell are you doing here!" Zach said pointing at Laila as she walked in. "Trying not to throw up at the sight of this place, again you live here?" She asked, I sighed and nodded. "Can we borrow a computer? We need to research for our project." I asked Zach, he nodded glaring at Laila, "Mine is on the table, charging cord is in my, Jonah and Corbyn's room. "Thanks." I said, grabbing the computer and walking upstairs, the girls followed me. "Well, this is my room, insult whatever you like, I really don't care!" I said to Laila putting the computer down. "Let's start then, do you know the time frame for the timeline?" Hailey asked, "I'll check classroom..." I said opening the computer as Hailey and Cassie came to sit next to me.
