Barricading your home is an absolute must when it comes to staying alive in the zombie apocalypse. You need a good defence system, and you need to make sure your base is as safe as possible.
All the windows need to be barricaded, either with wood or metal slats. Pushing something heavy into the way of a window won't protect you. If you can move it, the next zombie hoard can too.
Quick Tip: If there is no wood or metal available at the time, covering windows with thick fabric such as duvets and blankets can block out the view for the zombies.
Doors need to be shut at all times, and locked if possible. Something should always be available to push against the door to buy you and your group some time if zombies come knocking. It should never be pushed in the way of the door if there are no other exits or there is no threat, because you might need to get out fast.
