第四回 // Chapter 4

"Mom, I'm Home!" I said as I entered my home. I heard loud cheers in or dining room.
Zhengting and the boys walked with me to the room and we were greeted with happy smiles.

Everyone was there.
My mom, my dad, my grandparents
and many other relatives.

"My daughter is finally back!"
My mother cheered and hugged me tightly.
Slowly all the other family members stood up and welcomed me back.
"Tonight, we will have a nice dinner with the family and Zhengting's friends!"
My dad announced.

We sat at the round table and started having a nice conversation, about my past years.

"Chuxia, you have turned so beautiful!"
My aunt complimented.
"Have I been ugly before?"
I faked gasped and joked. I felt my right shoulder being touched by Zhengting.
"Yes, you have." He said jokingly,
receiving a punch by me.

"So Chuxia darling tell me." My aunt started.
"Have you had a boyfriend in England?"
My cheeks immediately grew red
and I shamefully looked away from the
anticipating eyes of my family.

"M-m-maybe.." I softly said.
"What's his name? Are you still together?
Is he nice?"
My little cousin Ruwei asked me curiously.
"U-uh... we are not together anymore."
I quietly said.

The table grew silent, no one said anything
until my mother decided to speak up
and make the atmosphere festive again.
"Oi oi, let's not talk about something like that! Chuxia was school successful?"

I nodded "Yes, I finally got my certificate for literature and business English and my certificate for character design!"
My dream was to be a Game Designer and Artist.

"Can you show me your newer drawings?
I remember when you were younger!
Your drawings were horrible, haha!!"
Zhengting laughed, receiving another punch,
but I agreed.

Everyone sat down in our living room and I fetched my portfolio with my sketches.
"Wow, you've really improved!"
Zhengting was impressed. I smiled "Of course! I practiced everyday!"

Throughout the whole time I couldn't help, but feel watched by someone.
I looked at everyone and saw a specific
boy looking at me.
Instead of saying anything I just
simply smiled at Justin. He simply smiled back at me.

"Ah, Zhengting it's getting late!
Chuxia darling, please escort them to the door!" My mother spoke up and I obliged.

"It was fun to talk to you again
Zhengting-ge, I wish everyone good luck!"
My older cousin patted me on the head.
"Take care of yourself Chuxia,
we'll take our leave now!"
They started walking away.

As I was about to close the door I heard someone calling for me.
"Zhu Chuxia.."
It was Justin. "Mh...? Is something wrong?"
"I-I-I...I ..." He seemed nervous so I
decided to walk up to him and give
him an assuring smile.

"It's nothing.. good night."
Before he left, he gave me a little note.

I walked inside and opened up the little
note he pressed into my hand.
'Please message me [number]'

I got my phone and quickly saved the number.
I lied on my bed and wasn't sure, if I should text him that night or wait, but since I didn't want to let him wait I just texted him.

An answer came immediately.
It was just a simple:
'I'm happy you texted me'

Being the awkward me I didn't write back, since I just didn't know what to write.
Fortunately, he was talkative.

Justin - Chuxia

So uh.. you had a boyfriend?

Alright then.. we met in England at my high school there. We had a class together and the teacher chose us as partners.
At first I really disliked him, because he seemed like a total douchebag!
We were just project partners.. nothing more.
But one day.. he asked me out, stupid me wanted to give him a chance, so I agreed.
We went on our first date.
This continued on for several weeks.
Later on it was official, we were a couple!
I was so happy back then. I was blinded by his love... I trusted him.. it was a mistake.

What did he do?

One night, on our one year anniversary, I wanted to pay him a surprise visit.
I had a key to his place, so I invited myself in.
As I went up the stairs I heard .. noises coming from a female voice.
I peeked through his room door and saw him cheating on me with another girl.
When they took a short break I overheard their conversation.
She was asking him about me and what he said really hurt me.. he was using me for fame, money and .. he just wanted my body.

The next day at school, Monday he happily went up to me and tried to be all close.
I didn't push him away or anything. I was so stupid.. why didn't I do anything?!
After school... he brought me to a place where no students were. He pushed me against the wall... and.. he.. he tried to.. he started
touching me and...

Stop, don't continue.

Luckily, another female student
came and helped me.. he got suspended.

Chuxia.. I'm so sorry..
You didn't deserve that. If I were only there to protect you..

You couldn't have done anything..
You were in Korea anyway.
It's in the past now, let's forget it.

She doesn't and I don't want her to know

Chuxia, I really missed you.

I put my phone away, not knowing how to answer. It's not like I didn't miss him.. it just feels so different now.

Maybe, after such a long time.
We were finally able to regain our bond
and find our lost feelings again.
