I see Mrs. West standing outside the house as we pull up. I park behind Ajax and watch as he gets out of his truck to greet her. This isn't going to be good, Ma must've called her. I reluctantly leave the safety of my new car and hop out. "You both have some explaining to do." She states, looking happy yet annoyed with us.
"Yes, we got married." I hear Ajax admit.  "Harp didn't want to get married anywhere but Montana and she didn't want a wedding. However, if you're super nice and don't pester her with a million questions, I'm sure my wonderful wife will agree to one last party." He tells her, then looks at me questioning, wanting to pacify his Ma.
"A wedding reception?" Mrs. West asks, hope lighting up her eyes.
I smile at her eagerness. "You think you can take care of everything?" I question, knowing full well she and Ma are perfectly capable.
She nods happily. "We can throw something together, I'm sure of it."
"No, cornering me in my office? Or pestering me about details?" I ask, unsure if they can actually go though the process without involving me.
"Deal." She says, walking back to her car, but not before giving Ajax a hug and kiss on her way.
I roll my eyes, "Mama's boy." I tease, as we make our way inside.

Spending the day with my new husband was quiet, well it was that is until Ajax starting putting together his new grill. By the time he finishes assembling it I've learned a few cuss words I didn't even know existed.
"Wow." I say, looking at the monstrous BBQ. "Why did you have to get one so big? It takes up most of the patio." I point out.
"To get one smaller would've been an insult to my manhood." He replies, hooking up the propane tank.
"Right, so your about to put two steaks on a grill meant to accommodate a whole party, because to get a smaller, sensible one would've told the world that you have a small penis?"
"Exactly. Now, everyone will know big of a man I am."
I roll my eyes, "Okay, big man you literally just moved out of your childhood bedroom."
I see the gleam in his eye and book it, Laughing hysterically as Ajax tries to chase me down. When he has me pinned to the floor in the bedroom, I quit fighting. "I love you." I tell him breathless.
He kisses me sweetly. "I've loved you my whole life."
