This is the sequel/short story to Bea and Max. The school year is ending finally and Bea and Max have been happily together for nine months. Around the beginning of their relationship they planned a road trip with Dom her older brother and the twins Max's younger brothers. They were going to Brazil for a little road trip and have been anticipating this trip for the entire school year.
Max has been anticipation this trip for one main reason. He was going to mark Bea. Now, werewolves are born with a bond to their "mate" and once they find their mate they have the choice to accept them or reject them. Rejecting a mate is a very painful process. First it starts with constant longing from both male and female. Then it moves on to mental feelings like finding yourself daydreaming about them or thinking about them anytime of the day. Physically nothing has happened but in the case that the reject-or finds another replacement the reject-ed will feel the opposite of what the replacement is feeling. Like pleasure turns into gut wrenching pain and happiness into saddens. Then when the reject-or marks the replacemnt the reject-ed goes into a state of depression and will eventually die of suicide, starvation or physical abuse.
But don't worry Max accepted Bea and is now ready to claim her as his as is she to him.
