-Demi's POV-
"Wilmer.." He pushes me against the wall. "Shut up" He mumbles. "What are you doing?" I whisper. "I need you" "So you put a gun to my head?" "Shut up!" "Wilmer just put the gun down.." "Why?" "Because this is just crazy" "Fine" He growled. I could here police sirens getting closer and so could Wilmer. He smacked me. "You called the police?!" "How could I?" 'Then who was it?" He whispered. I rolled my eyes. He can't be that stupid... But maybe he is. He looks around the room, then he starts running towards the family room. I chase after him, i'm not going to let him hurt her. He stops when he sees her sitting on the couch with a phone in her hand. "You" He whispers and steps closer to her. I forgot he still has the gun in his hands. "What?" She glares at him. Her glare passed him and she looked at me. She doesn't look angry anymore, just scared. "Why'd you call them?" He asks her. She looks down. "Because you have a gun. I'm not as stupid as you think I am" He drops the gun when the pounding on the door started. "Dammit" He cursed. "Please don't tell them" He pleaded me. "Too late" The police came in and handcuffed him. Ariel ran over to me and wrapped her arms tightly around my waist. Quiet sobs are muffled by my shirt. "It;s ok." I whisper to her and rub her back. "I love you" She sniffles. "I love you too" "Did you throw the stuff away" I sqeeze the bag in my hand. "Nope" We walked to the bathroom and I flushed everything away. "You promise you won't do anything like that again?" "Yes I promise" I grabbed her arm and rolled her sleeve up. "I am so sorry Ariel. If I was awake then you wouldn't of done this" "It's ok mom... I really promise this time. I won't do it and you can check every night if you have to. I just don't want to lose you again" "I am not going anywhere" "Mrs. Lovato?" "Yes" I turned to the officer. Ariel was still holding onto me. She's afraid to let go. "We would like to ask you a few questions. Is that alright with you?" "Yeah" I look down at her. Her eyes are closed. Her nose is scrunched up, her face is red like she's holding her breath but I know it;s because she's holding in her tears. "Can she stay?" I ask because I know she won't leave either way. "Sure" We went back into the family room. An officer just now picking up the small gun that was being held to my head just ten minutes ago. We all sat on a couch, Ariel laying her head on my shoulder. I could feel her shaking against me, "Did he say anything to you?" "He said he needed me" I shrugged. "Is that all" "Yes. I told him to put the gun down and he did" "Ok, do you know where he got the gun?" "Nope" I rubbed Ariel's back. She was staring up at me with a small smile on her face. "Ok. That's all I need. He won't be bothering you anymore" The officer smiled and a few minutes later it was just me and her in my house. "I'm glad you're here" She whispers, still staring at me. "Me too. I'm not going anywhere this time. I'm all better. But I do need to catch up on some things" "Like?" "How's school" She smiled. "It's fine. I had a boyfriend for a while" She frowned. "We broke up this morning..." "I'm sorry.. Did you love him" "Kinda" "Kinda?" "Yeah. He wanted me to stop doing drugs but I yelled at him. Then he said you're dissapointed in me, are you?" "Well I was. I wasn't expecting to come home and find my daughter with cocaine but thar doesn't make me love you any less" She hugged me. "I promise" "I know. I believe you" "I love you mom" "I love you too" I pulled out my phone and took a picture of us. I was kissing her cheek and she had a cheeky smile on her face.
