This piece is meant to help comfort those who are mourning the loss of a loved one.

Blessed are Those Who Mourn

Doubt penetrates the mind,

When a loved one is lost,

Emotion overwhelms and leaves exhaust,

And it feels God has been cruel and unkind.

Let go of blind hatred,

Give Him your trust,

And forget self-pity and what seems unjust;

Keep prayer and faith within instead.

Bitterness will only warp the heart;

Don’t sully the memory of those gone,

For the end of mortal life brings a new, unmarred dawn;

For that one so cared about, not an end but a start.

From eternal glory they’ll look down below,

Their hearts filled with fondness,

And whisper, “God bless,”

To those still on Earth, continuing life’s ebb and flow.
