Now this poem is not as obviously religious as my other poems in this collection but see if you can figure out what the religious message is behind it and leave your interpretation in the comment section :) Thank you for reading, voting, and commenting!!

The Sun Beyond
by Marjac
A wall looms ahead,
Still, cold as the dead;
The weeds reach up
With hope, in worship
But their savior is naught
But a foe. False. An idol, handwrought.
The wall blocks their true salvation;
The sun, their mother sighs with vexation
But the weeds are blind,
They remain twined
Around the bricks like lovers,
Consigning themselves to their captors.
They fade away and die,
still believing in the lie
That beyond there is no sky
And that beyond,
No weeds flourish
That none thrive, none multiply.
There, walled, they die,
Limp with malnourish.
