Jason's P.O.V

"Where do you live Jason?" A girl asked as I began to mumble.. I don't even know what I was saying but she seemed frustrated "how am I supposed to drop you off if you won't tell me where you live? Hey, you don't happen to have your phone with you, right? Maybe I can call one of your brothers and ask them" "d-dead" I mumbled and Summer shook her head.

"I guess you can stay at my place tonight" she said and I mumbled something under my breath.

"You can borrow my brothers clothes, he's on vacation" Summer said as she threw a shirt and shorts at me "I set up the bed for you in the guest room" she said and I began to gag as she quickly grabbed a garbage bin. I threw up into the bin as she looked away "I'll get you some pain killers, just take a shower" she said.

After I had showered I took pills and lied down on the bed. I didn't remember much of what happened at the party, I think the last thing I remembered was being with a random girl and.. we were trying to decide something while I held a condom in my hand but after that moment everything was.. a mystery.

I was starting to feel a bit better and I wanted to text Justin to let him know I was fine but my phone was dead. I looked around the empty dark room and got out of bed, "oh I was just coming to check up on you" Summer said. "I need a charger" I said "here ya go" she said and handed me one.

"What happened?" I asked, "I don't know.. I found you and a girl passed out, her friend took her home and I didn't want to leave you at the party" "who's party?" "Cole" "who the hell is Cole?" "Captain of the track team" Summer said as I rubbed my eyes. "Well thanks" I murmured and went back to the room to plug my phone into the charger.

She reminded me of her.. Sophie.

I texted Justin and scrolled through Instagram to see photos from earlier, I wasn't in any of them so I must've not been there for so long.. I think.

I couldn't sleep, I can't sleep anywhere besides my own bed, especially when I'm in a strangers house. Well Summer isn't exactly a stranger.

She's been taking me to a lot of parties lately, but every time we arrive to the parties, we always end up splitting up then by the end she finds me and let's me stay over at her place and instead of sleeping, I just stay up on my phone and sometimes turn on the TV while it's on low volume so that I don't feel so empty and lonely. I always have to have something playing in the background. I wasn't sure if I could call Summer a friend, yeah we went out a lot but we never have full conversations which I'm actually okay with, people always try to have shitty and awkward conversations with me but Summer just stays quiet during the car ride or sometimes plays music.

I admit, she is a very attractive girl but looks aren't enough for me to like a person. There was something about her.

I glanced at the time and remembered that I have to go to dinner with my mom and Justin. I wish Derek were going, he's the only person I can talk to. Justin and I aren't very close, ever since he came out we've been distant. I still haven't fully accepted the fact that he's gay, I guess I'm a hypocrite for saying that because Derek is bi but that's different. Derek is dating a girl, and yeah he might be cheating on her with a guy but Derek truly loves Ariana and I know that for a fact. Derek and this guy won't even last.

After putting my phone down I stared at the TV and watched cartoons, eyes closing as I was finally beginning to fall asleep.

"Hi boys," my father waved through the camera on my mothers iPad as Justin waved and I only shot him a quick glance before looking down at my phone. "Where's Derek?" "He's spending the weekend with his friend" my mom said and I snorted. That was a lie, he was spending the weekend with Ariana, probably getting it in as we speak.

"I am so proud of Derek, being in the honor roll, straight A's, he's going somewhere, I tell ya" my dad smiled, "and Jason.. what a strong and motivating young man, joining the marines.. not exactly my favorite but I'm glad you're joining" my dad said through the video call, "and Justin.. you're such a good kid, never gets into any trouble, always doing the right thing, your instructor tells me good things about you."

I played with my food and heard a familiar voice, I turned around and spotted Summer and her parents who had just arrived to the restaurant. I snorted at her outfit, it was so different compared to what she wears at school. Summer lived with her brother in an apartment, I'm not sure if I remember clearly but I think she told me her parents were too strict so she moved in with her brother.

I'd love to move away from this shit hole. "I'm going to the bathroom" I said and stood up, making my way towards the bathroom, "hi Jason" Summer smiled and her parents looked at me, "Hi" I said. "This is my friend Jason" Summer told her parents "hello Jason" her father greeted me and I shook his and his wife's hand politely. "I'm here with my family" I said, "oh that's nice!" "Yeah.. sorry, I need to use the bathroom" I said and her parents nodded in understanding as I rushed into the restroom.

After I finished using the bathroom, I washed my hands and walked towards Summer's parents. "Will you be joining us Jason?" Summer's father asked "yeah sure" I shrugged and sat down besides Summer.

"What do you do Jason?" "Well right now I'm finishing up High school then in a couple of months I ship off to boot camp for the Marines," "the marines? My father was a marine himself, he wanted me to join but it wasn't my thing.. I knew I was meant to be a doctor" "the Marines also offers training for medical field" "yes, you are correct but I wanted to stay close to my wife" the man said as he held his wife's hand.

"That's understandable, I to always wanted to be close to my ex girlfriend" I said, "ex girlfriend?" "Yeah her name was Sophie" I said. "What happened? If you don't mind me asking?" Summers mother asked and Summer seemed interested in my answer.

"She died," I said.
