Justin's P.O.V

Michael and I sat across from one another as he took a bite out of his burger. I ate my apple slices as I looked around, and grabbed his hand in mine. "Say cheese!" I heard and Mary smiled as she showed me the photo "this is so going on the yearbook" she said as Michaels eyes widened "um no you can't do that" he said as I raised a brow "why not?" "B-because.. uh privacy.. that's private" Michael said as Mary pouted "whatever" she said and walked away.

"What was that about?" I said as Michael sat beside me "I'm sorry.. I don't want to risk having my family find out about us, they don't know I'm with a guy and I don't want them to think I'm gay" "w-what?" I said in confusion. "I can't risk having my parents find out Justin.. and if they see it on the yearbook then I'm screwed" Michael said as I looked down. "Oh" I said as I looked down, "so you don't want to kiss me in public?" I said as he sighed "just not around teachers.. who knows what they'll say to my parents but anywhere else is fine" Michael said and kissed my cheek as I sighed and I nodded in understanding as he smiled.

After school I walked down the sidewalk as I sighed, "Hey Justin!" I heard and my friend Brittany smiled as she walked besides me "I hear you and Michael are dating! That's cute" she smiled "Yeah I guess so" I said as she pouted "what's wrong?" she said as I sighed "it's just that.. he wants to hide me from his family because he doesn't want them to think he's gay" "Well isn't he?" "I don't know.. I think he's confused" "or maybe he doesn't want to be labeled" Brittany said as I raised a brow "huh?"

"People feel like because he's dating you that he's gay or bi but he doesn't want to be any of those things.. he doesn't want to be labeled" Brittany said as I nodded "ooh" I said in understanding. "I guess I can see why he doesn't want to come out" I said. "Yeah, I'll see you tomorrow Justin" Brittany waved as she turned to a different street.

I grabbed my phone and called Michael as I was entering my room and lied down on my bed. "Hello?" "hey" I said "oh hi Justin, how are you?" "I'm fine.. I just wanted to talk about earlier and say that I understand.. at first I was upset about it but I'm not mad" I said "oh that's good, I'm sorry for putting you through this" "it's cool" I said. "So are we going to prom?" I said as he sighed.

"I don't know.. my parents will want pictures of me and my date and.. I'm just not sure if I can risk it" I heard Michael say as I frowned "okay now this going too far" I said "Justin I'm sorry but that's just how it's gotta be" "so we're not going?" I said as I heard him sigh.

"Okay we'll go" he said as my eyes widened "really? Why the change of heart?" "Something came up" he said. "Great" I smiled as I lied down, "how are things? How's Derek?" "He's fine, his competition is tomorrow and he seemed pretty confident to me before he left" I said, "ah that's great" "yeah.. and Jason is.. surprisingly still engaged" I said "even after the way your mom reacted?" "Yep" I said.

My mom wasn't too happy when Jason told her about the engagement, they had a huge argument and Jason thought mom was being a big hypocrite because she got married straight out of high school too but her reasons were different because her and my dad were already dating for two years and she was already pregnant around the graduation, but Jason is marrying a girl he only knew for two months and they've only been on one date.

"What do you think about it?" Michael asked as I sighed "he's my brother.. I have to support him even if we might not be close" "but what are your honest thoughts?" "I think he's making a mistake and this could have to do with his ex but I'm not going to argue" I sighed. "Yeah I thought so.. anyways, I'm going to sleep now J" "okay.. goodnight" I said "goodnight" Michael said and hung up as I sighed, still wondering as to why he had suddenly changed his mind."

I walked down the halls as I sighed, I missed Derek. I so need someone to talk to about Michael. I walked into my science class and raised a brow at the sight of Michael talking to a girl, the girl giggled as she put her hand on his bicep and I walked towards them as I cleared my throat "You're on my seat."

The girl stood up as she rolled her eyes "I'll see you at prom Michael" she winked and I raised a brow "excuse me?" I said as he grabbed my hand "I have a plan Justin" he said happily. "We could pretend that Bianca is my date! I'll take a whole bunch of photos with her for my parents so they won't find out about you and me" Michael smiled "and once we get to prom she can go with her friends and we can be together" he said "isn't it a great idea?"

I stared at him in shock as he only smiled and I wanted to scream but instead I just nodded "yeah.. sure" I said and looked down as class began.

Well prom is going to be shit.
