The days were passing too quickly, Ethan and I were spending every moment together and I think the adults had caught on with what was happening with us.
It's like a roller coaster ride that I can't get off (nor do I want to) but we both know it's going to have an abrupt ending; when he leaves.I walked to the pool with my towel around me and opened the gate hearing splashing and yelling.
A sunblock-covered-Daisy was putting sun cream on Rachael's back too (its seemed Daisy had learnt her lesson from being sunburnt), while Rachel was reading a magazine and Ethan and Toby were holding Mike's legs counting to three and then letting go, throwing a screaming, angry Mike into the pool.
I laughed at Mike's face as he plunged into the water, Ethan heard and looked over, then Toby said, "GO!"
I knew they were up to some-thing, so I threw my towel on a deck chair and ran around the side of the pool but Ethan ran around and came on one side while Toby was on the other and they cornered me picking me up, arms and legs, tossing me into the blue pool.
I swam to the surface- loving the water temperature, wiping the water out of my eyes and said to the two brothers collapsing with laughter,
"I'm going to get you two back don't you worry!"
The rest of the time around the pool was relaxing. I laid my head In Ethan's lap and wore my sun glasses and straw hat, (I really didn't want to get sun burnt on my face again) while lazily reading my book.
This position had become natural and comfortable to us. We just couldn't stay away from each other. For any longer than a minute, or a second.
I loved it when he caressed my skin with his fingers, absentminded and in thought or listening to music. My skin seared and almost hurt where his fingers touched.
"What'cha reading?" He asked playfully tapping my nose.
"You know what I'm reading already" I laughed,
"I know, but I wanted to annoy you" He persisted,
I snorted and rolled my eyes.
"It's fifty Shades of Grey Isn't it!" Mike piped up, from across the pool.
Everyone laughed.
"How did you know..." I laughed, "No if you must know it's 'Call me by your Name' and is all about a summer love in Italy."
Like Ethan and I, except we weren't in Italy. Nor were we gay. But still... the similarities were there. Except the ending was sad. I hope Ethan and I have a more happier ending. I decided I didn't want to think about that and leap up to jump in the pool again.
It was really cool getting to know Mike and Toby too.
Mike is a funny lil guy and reminds me of Dash off the film 'The Incredibles.' He is just so full of energy and loud, always making jokes and remarks.
Toby, I think is a bit of a bully sometimes. He's bulkier out of the brothers and his face and jaw are harder. He has one dimple on his left side of his cheek and his teeth aren't as straight as Ethan's. I get the feeling he thinks he's good looking and flexes his muscles whenever he has the chance and styles his hair with jell and always smells like cologne.
He is friendly enough, and funny but I still have never wanted to be alone with him. Sometimes I feel him staring at me at the pool and it makes me uncomfortable.
I wonder how him and Rachel are getting along. They have been spending a bit of time together too, (whenever Rachel isn't working or sleeping.)As they day went on I decided to get Ethan back, for pushing me into the pool. I was hoping the revenge would be sweet. However it did not go at ALL like I had planned.
Ethan was bending over the side of the pool trying to reach the blow up Lilo and I sneaked up behind him, everyone watching and staying silent, but he heard me coming, he quickly stood up and turned around. I rushed at him laughing and pushing him as hard as I could into the pool.
However, as I pushed him, I knew that something was wrong. He was too close to the side of the pool. As he was twisting, his chin smacked the edge of the hard tiles, his head jerked backwards and fell with a splash. I stood there for a second realizing what I'd done.
