Ethan only has five more days left, I thought this morning; waking up with a start.
I had to stop myself from crying right there and then by grabbing the nearest book on my shelf and started to read it, distracting myself.
Crap, the book was 'The Fault in Our Stars' – the biggest, saddest love story ever!
It's funny to think that I read this book not too long ago, liking it, but never thinking that I would fall in love as a teenager; I thought it would happen a lot later in life – if ever at all!
I now realize that I want Ethan in my life forever. I love him with all my existence and it now physically hurts to see his family start collecting there things around the house and start packing their bags. Well mostly Ethan's parents. Mike Toby and Ethan haven't touched their stuff or started packing it away.
I slumped down the stairs into the kitchen thinking it was too early for the boys to be up and found it was only mum and dad sitting at the table having a cup of tea together.
I walked in yawning; they smiled and said the usual,
"Good morning, did you have a good sleep?"
"Yep"
I replied getting out a cereal bowl from the cupboard.
Mum smiled and asked,
"Is everything alright, with everything?"
"Yes, why wouldn't it be?"
I said with my back faced away from them, pouring my cereal in my bowl, loudly. She always has a way of sniffing out emotions and knowing what's up.
"Well I was just asking, I wouldn't be a very good mother if I didn't ask."
"How's Ethan?' Dad asked laughing.
I blushed and smiled,
"Good dad, good."
Mum and dad were making those knowing eyes together.
"What?" I demanded
"We just hope you don't get hurt because they're leaving in less than a week..." Mum said reminding me again, and then dad put on his fatherly voice saying,
"We have seen how fond you two are of each other, over the summer, and we are glad for you, but it's just we don't know how long it will be before we can afford to see each other again." He admitted,
I poured milk into my cereal, unsure what to say – scared I'll have a crying break down.
"But it's been so amazing having my old friend here with her husband and kids, I'm sure it won't be too long before we see them again." Mum said nudging dad, breaking the silence.
Obviously mum got the hint that I was on the brink of unravelling.
I munched on my cereal and said through gritted teeth,
"I know, me and him will just have to figure something out."
I sighed and said,
"I wasn't expecting to love him this much."
They looked shocked as I said the love word, obviously not thinking it was this serious.
"Oh honey," Mum got up and hugged me, pressing me against her bosom, while I tried not to spill my breakfast everywhere.
Mum smiled that smile which always makes me feel sorry for myself and the tears always come pouring out.
It felt nice to talk to mum about Ethan; I missed her support over the summer and realized how her knowledge and ideas were so important to me.
