Chapter Three. We meet again.

When I came home from school, I decided to go for a walk to clear my head. Today was the first time I spoke with Mason after I broke up with him and it just made me go back to thinking why he would do such a thing. If he didn't like me anymore, he could have just broken up with me. And I feel so stupid for never realizing he was capable of doing that. I felt like crying all over again. Not because I thought I still liked him, but because I don't know if that was a one time thing. I don't know how long he put me in oblivion.

I was so caught up in my thoughts I didn't even realize I was already at the park. When I looked up to see where I was standing, I tripped over a rock and fell on my butt. I was about to get up when I saw a hand in front of me. It was Spencer's. I took it and he pulled me up in less than a second. Woah, he was strong.

"Are you okay?" He chuckled. "I saw you walking in deep thought and I wasn't going to disturb you until you tripped over that rock."

I looked at him. He had headphones around his neck and was wearing sweats. Probably went out for a run. God, he looked good even when he was sweating.

"Ha, yeah.. I swear, that rock wasn't there when I was looking! It magically appeared out of no where. I bet some invisible aliens put it there just because they like to see people fall on their butts." I rambled..

When I looked at him, he was wearing an amused smile. "Well then I'll use my imaginary powers to destroy them all and become your hero." He stated as he pretended to slice the invisible aliens in half. I started laughing at him.

"Great, now I have invisible alien blood all over me."

He began laughing as well. "I'm so sorry, my lady. How can I ever make it up to you?"

"How about swinging with me on those swings over there? I haven't sat on one for years."

"Deal."

We walked over to the swings and I sat in one of them. I started to swing but Spencer was just standing there. "The deal was for you to acompany me while I swing." He simply nodded and made it seem as if he were going to sit on the swing next to me. Instead he came back around and pushed me so I would go higher.

"Nooo, don't push me!"

He pushed me higher.

"Oh my god, Spencer! You're going to kill me."

"Nothing will happen, I'm right here." He chuckled while pushing me again.

"I'M GOING TO DIE! And you will be responsible!! Pleasee, stop." I whined.

Spencer started laughing at me but finally slowed me down. I jumped off and hit his shoulder.

"I could have died!"

"I was right here to catch you if you fell." He answered nonchanlantly.

That's what my dad would say. When I was a little girl, he would take me to the park and push me on the swings. I would yell at him asking what would happen if I fell and he would say "Don't worry baby girl, I was right here to catch you if you fell." I really missed him.

"Hey, Abigail. Why are you crying?" I was crying? I lifted up my fingers and felt a tear run down my cheek.

"I.. My dad used to bring me here to swing. I was just remembering him."

"Used to?"

"He d-died three years ago." I choked out. Three years ago was also when I met Mason. Maybe the only reason I accepted a relationship with him was because I needed someone there with me. Maybe that's why I was so oblivious to everything. No matter how much I hated him, he was there to support me when I lost someone.

Maybe I started crying again, I don't know. But Spencer stepped forward and pulled me into a hug. We stayed there for awhile, not saying anything to each other. After a minute, I looked back and saw that I soaked his whole shirt. "I'm sorry I got your shirt wet."

"It's okay, it'll dry up." He looked at me. Then I looked at him. It got awkward really fast.

"Is there something on my face?" I started brushing my face with my hands.

"No, I'm just looking."

"At what?"

"You."

I looked around at everything, anywhere except his face. "It's getting dark, I should probably start heading home." I told him.

"I'll walk you there." He offered. "Where do you live?"

"West side of town."

"Me too, what a coincidence." Would you look at my luck.

The whole way home we talked about anything and everything. He talked about how he hopes to involve sports in his future, how he likes the color yellow because it reminds him of the sun, and how he has a little sister who is 5. Before I realized, we were on my front porch.

"I had fun today." I said.

"Me too." He answered.

"Well, I'll see you at school then." I said, sadly. I didn't want him to go but he had to get home too. It was getting pretty dark.

"Until next time, my lady." He bowed slightly and waited for me to go inside..

Mason's POV

Was that Gail? Who was she walking with?

"Sam, go back a little. I think that's Gail." He reversed the car and I could see the two people clearly.  How could she let other guys walk her home after I told her I still love her? I need to talk to her again. I need her back.
