Somehow everything’s gonna fall right into place,
If we only had a way to make it fall faster every day
If only time flew like a dove
Well God, make it fly faster than I’m falling in love
This time we’re not giving up
Let’s make it last forever
Screaming ‘Hallelujah!’
We’ll make it last forever.
The music was voided of all other instruments baring that of the guitar. The intricate rift was played over an eight bar period before the music welcomed the harsh introduction of the bass guitar and the drums. Robyn couldn’t help but tap her feet to the beat as she stood next to Matthew; his arm lazily draped over her shoulder as he stared down at the ground, critically analyzing the sound as he made sure everything was as they rehearsed.
Dominic, her session and touring drummer looked up towards her as Robyn mentally recognized her musical cue before the track was lifted with the sound of a perfectly even female voice that caressed the music and words. Robyn couldn’t help but smile as she heard her voice against the music; the levels were faultless, the music was just at the right volume as her voice flowed impeccably with the melody.
The young musician continued to smile towards the floor, the computer chair the technician was currently residing in was sweeping across the laminated floor as he altered sound levels or melding the separate recorded parts of music together. He also reached for the speakers that were pressed against the navy blue walls, obviously preventing the damage of the instruments pressed inside the soundproof room that the young werewolf could see through the window in front of her.
The other employees of the studio were either standing by the wall or perched to the edge of the large sofa as Robyn and her friends worked. However, as Robyn auscultated to the music she could not help her mind falling to the story behind the song and the similarities of her own story.
She knew her pack were still unsure with their Packmaster consulting with Vampires; her brother was the only one demanding she think about the trouble she could get into. She heeded his words, understood the wisdom behind his arguments, but with the possible unfolding events how could she walk away now?
How could they suspect Eric considering everything he had done to either help or save them? Having a vampire around had resulted in the longevity of a few members of her pack and with the protection of a vampire and his nest meant her pack would not suffer with the threat of a vampire attack.
It seemed the rivalry between their two races spanned far longer and with more ferocity than even Robyn realised as she took in the reaction of her pack. If Vampires could integrate into human society, to fight for human rights, why couldn’t she fight for a peaceful sanction between vampires and werewolves?
But, Robyn knew she was getting too involved, she knew her heart was falling for the ancient Vampire and for the first time in her life Robyn knew she wanted to be with him; she wasn’t second guessing herself after every decision. When she was with Eric everything was better, she couldn’t conceal the way she felt for all the time she spent with him everything just seemed to get brighter. He made life worth living again.
