Sookie had come to realize who the wolf really was, but neither of them would admit it. Instead they sat there, glaring at the other as they listened to the rain-patterning against the roof of the club, and the eventual unveiling of the woman back into her human form. They did not speak of what weighed on both their minds, although Robyn could hear it in Sookie’s voice as she spoke to the bubbly persona of Ginger; it seemed the barmaid was unaware of the underlying tension that engulfed the bar.
Robyn was exhausted from staying up most of the night and day; trapped in the same painful thought conversation that was the predictable coda of the day’s event. Her fervid mind leaving her feeling disheartened and perplexed; of all the nights why had Shannon gotten herself mixed up in such saturnine circumstances that had led to her tragic death? What had made her call on the vacant empty household of her Packmaster and best friend? Was she suffering with conflicting thoughts? Did she possess vital information that could have affected the outcome of Dallas or the potential capture of the beast they had been hunting? All of these unanswered questions flew around her mind and with the looming appointments she needed to attend in Dallas, the grieving she needed to undertake for her friend was inhibiting the efficiency of her mind as she tried to figure out as to what and why had taken the missing wolves and vampires.
She looked into the vast space that was the bar, she could see Ginger preparing Fangtasia for the evening, the wolves tired eyes aching while Sookie kept glancing towards the clock that hung over the alcohol bottles that were positioned to the wall behind the bar. Why had she put herself into this position in the first place? She couldn’t shift due to Sookie’s irrational behaviour and if she fell asleep she would un-intentionally shift back into human form, naked. That was a whole different situation she did not wish to find herself in. Eric would not be impressed with her when he arose; she had not complied with his strict instructions of getting some rest, she just hoped that when he realizes why he maybe more lenient. Mentally she reminded herself to ask Eric about the relevant vampire laws concerning humans due to her lack of understanding, which was one of the reasons why she shifted to her wolf form in the first place. She knew how to navigate herself through a conversation through a testosterone filled meeting with the male Packmasters, but ask her to list off the correct procedures to find information concerning vampires, not so much.
It was in that moment when she heard the turning of the door handle that led towards Eric’s office. Her left ear twizzled, flicking in the direction of the noise as she expectantly lifted her head from it’s resting position on her front paws and eagerly awaited the arrival of the one vampire who could aid in ordering her chaotic thoughts. As Sookie gauged the wolfs reactions, she too mirrored her emotions and turned, her hand resting on the back of her chair as she awaited the arrival of the vampire who was making their way into the bar. Bill, Sookie’s boyfriend almost jogged into the room, a large relieved smile etched onto his pale features as he watched Sookie heaving herself to her feet before wrapping her arms around her vampire lover who had pulled her into an embrace.
Robyn simple heaved her animal body to its feet, reaching out with her front paws before she shifted her weight behind her. She clicked out all the air bubbles from her tired joints, more than prepared to search for Eric before she flickered her dark eyes towards the couple that were pulling away from the other.
“You still angry about our fight?” Bill questioned, a deep frown engulfing his features as he took in the emotionless but very agitated look Sookie was holding. It seemed the young woman took a cautious look behind her towards the wolf; Bill following her eyes and his own fierce glare came about his features.
