Dove Taylor, curled up on a chair in the library, reads a fantastic story on merfolk and their presence in the Wizarding World. Her mind is entranced by the words she reads, unable to lift her eyes for even a mere second.

Non-fiction had never been a subject she'd fancied until her eyes had landed on the particular book in her hands. Only six pages remained in which her eyes had not touched.

Time wasn't real to her at that moment — it never seemed to exist when she was reading. From the moment she can remember, words had appealed to her. They were everywhere she looked.

For some reason, she fell in love with words. She wrote constantly: letters, stories, journals, anything!

To her, there were no downsides to reading. However, she knew there was a downside to words. For just as beautiful as words could be, they could also be ugly.

She herself had dealt with cruel and awful words, but luckily, she hadn't had to deal with them too often. As much as that fact should scare her, it intrigues her as well. How can something so beautiful be so ugly?

Maybe that's why Draco Malfoy interested her so much. Perhaps that is why she always seemed to be gravitating towards him. She never defended his actions, but she never put him down for them.

Coming around full circle, Dove never imagined there would be a downside to reading. However, there was. The only downside to her reading was that she never noticed the one constantly watching her: Draco Malfoy.
