"Beck, I haven't seen him in days. I'm staring to worry that I may have scared him off." Jasmine looked heartbroken. Her hair in a bun threw up on top of her head and lounging in her biggest t-shirt she looked at Beck with sad eyes. "What do I do?"
"Honey all I can tell you is this man is one of the best things that has happened to you. He makes you happy baby." Beck smiled. "I doubt you scared the child off. You've done nothin' wrong honey. I think you should call him right now."
Jasmine looked shockingly at beck. "Like, now? Now."
"Yes!"
"Okay okay. Let me go find my cell."
Then she was off, heart racing and practically running through her living room to the bedroom. She reached down in her purse to find her phone, picked up and ran back to the living room. Tripping on her shoes on the way. Beck laughed. "Girl, you're crazy."
Jasmine looked at her phone and went to the familiar contact and pressed call... One ring... two rings... three rings... four rings... voicemail. Shit. "Hello oliver, it's me again. I just wanted to see if you were okay. Make sure I didn't say something to make you change your mind about us. I.." then she was cut off by the familiar beep tone letting her know the message was full.
"No answer honey?" Beck said. Her tone heavy hearted as she looked at her dear friend. They'd known each other for many many years. Since Jasmine was a child. It broke her heart to see her this way.
"No. As usual." Jasmine was irritated beyond the universe by now. "I don't understand what the hell I did wrong?! I don't get it at all. I thought he was different. I thought he wasn't a complete and total douche. He acted mature enough. He holds his own business. What the fuck beck?!" Jasmine was in tears. She wiped them away. "Maybe I'm just not good enough for someone like him."
Beck was furious. "Oh hell no you didn't just say those words! No man should ever make a woman feel worthless. You don't know your worth baby girl. Don't let that man fool you. You're better than this."
Jasmine looked her in her eyes and held it. "I will never be good enough for oliver. I don't understand what I did wrong."
"Not a thing honey. Not one damn thing. C'mon. Were going." Beck said.
"Where are we going?"
"Well honey, were gonna go pay Oliver a visit." Beck said. Then she grabbed her keys, turned on her heel and started walking out the door.
"You comin'?"
Amused Jasmine smiled and grabbed her pipe. "Let's go. Were gonna need this."
The drive was complete silence. With not a car in site. When they arrived there were multiple cars in the driveway. Jasmine didn't recognize any of them. She had thought maybe it was his family so she decided maybe tonight not be the best idea to go in. "I don't want to interrupt something like that." Jasmine said. "I've never met his family. I can't just go knock on the door. We don't even know if this is going to work."
"Okay honey. No big thing. We can go."
Before they even got the chance to leave, a tall dark haired man in a suit stopped them. "Well, hello ladies. Here for the party?" He slurred.
"Party?" Beck said curiously.
He stumbled closer to the car. "Yeah. We got a hell of a lot of people here. Drinking having a good time. Smoking some green. You ladies ought to come in."
"Give us just a minute honey, we have to pamper." Beck said to the drunken man. "I still didn't get yo name honey?"
"Oh my apologies, I'm Emmet. And it's not a problem, pamper all you need to. Cougar." Emmet smiled at beck.
Jasmine hadn't noticed until that moment that Emmet was somewhat of an older man. He had silver streaks through his dark hair and through his beard. This man is very very handsome. Jasmine thought to herself. Very sculpted. In more than one way. She stopped her train of thought when she noticed him walk away. "What the fuck are we doing Beck?!" Jasmine was infuriated. She hazed at Beck with nothing but anger.
"Well honey, we know it's not his family. So we in the clear. We gone go on back home and get on our sexiest dresses and our highest heels and we gone crawl our asses out the car and we gone go have a good time. All while you get some answers from your drunken man." Beck explained.
The look on Jasmines face told Beck that she was not only please with the idea but amused as well.
"Let's do this shit."
