The Day before

Todays like any other day, I'm spending way too much time studying and my step brothers still trying to convince me to do something fun and go out on the boat for a weekend. I do fun things all the time so I don't know why he keeps asking me. I mean studying is fun, right? Okay well maybe I'm not that fun. In my defence our final exams are in just over a month and I want to be top in our grade. I need to study.

Spencer has been poking me for the last half hour trying to get my attention, as much as I try to ignore him he just won't budge. We might not actually be related but we can fight like we are. I don't know why but today I couldn't ignore his stupid behaviour.

"Fine," I gave in " we can do something this weekend on three conditions."

Spence looked at me funny,I guess he couldn't believe that I was agreeing. I can't b "You name it and its done. Promise."

"No drinking, no smoking and only a few close friends. We are not going over board."

"Hmmmm," he considered my proposal, "fine. But only because this is the first time you've said yes." He patted my head before heading to the door.

"I'll ask mum tonight, so don't invite anyone yet!" I called after Spence. The only reply I got was grunt as he left the house.

I couldn't focus on my work any more. I can't believe I agreed to something so stupid. You see my stepbrother and I are total opposites. I would rather stay inside reading a good book and he would rather ride his motorbike to the nearest party to get drunk and have fun. Now I personally wouldn't call Spencer a bad boy, unlike the rest of our school, I see him when he's at home being himself. He's actually a total sweetheart, he wouldn't admit it but he is. My mums always working and his dad is always traveling and so from a young age he took care of me. He may not be my real brother but we have always been like brother and sister from a young age.

Giving up on my studying I logged into my computer to check if my bestfriend, Callie, was online. She was, I know I won't be able to survive this weekend without her. Hopefully she can come.

hey, got any plans for this weekend? ~ Eva

...

Not really. I was just going to hang with Liam. Why? ~ Callie

Well Spencer and thought we might spend the weekend on the boat. If Ma and Pa agree. ~ Eva

Im going to take that as an invite. Sure I'd love to come! :) ~ Callie

Can Liam come too? ~ Callie

Of course! I'll let you know when the plans are finalised. x ~ Eva

Cant wait. x ~ Callie

Closing my laptop I left my room and made my way to the kitchen. Grabbing an oreo I dialled my mums number. While waiting for her to pick up I started doodling finishing the food. After a minute she picked up.

"Hello, Jessica speaking. How may I help you?'

"Ma its me, Spencer and wanted to know if we could borrow the boat this weekend for a trip with our friends?" I know I said was going to wait for her to get home, I just want to know.

"well, I suppose so. If.."

"If?" If was never good. If always comes with something you have to do. Like but, only worse.

"If you take Josh with you, Doreen has been telling me he's always out partying. She's concerned Eva, please?" Josh is a family friend I've known him since we were in diapers. He's Mr Popular, that guy everyone wants to be or be with. I hate him, well not hate. hate is a strong word. I just dislike him. A lot.

"Okay, I guess. But you have to invite him Ma. It is your idea after all." After a quick oaky from my mum she said goodbye as he had work to do.

Even though I said mum should ask him we both knew I would end up doing it. I sat on my bed compiling a list of people to invite, I already asked Callie and Liam, Josh had to be included as did Spencer. Mum told me to limit it to six people so I decided the final person should be a friend of Spencer, that left his best friend Ryan Douglas. Great. Pulling up messenger on my phone I create a group containing everyone. I'm not sure what to write, I type multiple versions of the same thing over and over again finally deciding on one.

Hey. Spencer and I decided that as a last horrar before exams and graduation we should spend a weekend on the boat. You know before we all get to busy. So if you want to come then be at the port at 10 am on Saturday. It should be fun ~ Eva

Short and to the point. Switching my phone off silent I threw it into my bed before heading back to studying. If I am going to go out partying all weekend I can't be behind.

It had been a few minutes since I sent the text, I don't know if I had been to forward with. Maybe I should delete it and resend. Making my way to my bed I lie down and grab my phone. Great Ryan was already typing. Dang. Now I can't change it. Quickly switching my phone off I threw it onto my head just as it went ping.

Count me in babe ;) ~ Ryan

Ugh. He can be so annoying. Ping.

Didn't know I was part of the gang but I'm always down if it means I don't have to be at home ~ Josh

Ping.

You already know Liam and I are in. No need to ask ~ Callie

Ping

This was my idea. Of course I'm in. See you losers tomorrow. Now F off. I was trying to drive ~ Spencer
