I swear we only fell asleep a few hours ago. Why are we all awake now. Suddenly the unmistakable sound of thunder rolled through our cabin. A clear sign that a storm had hit us full force.
The boat is rocking so much it's hard to stay in one place. Waves start to crash against the wooden exterior of the boat and the sky is lighting up as lightning hits the ocean around us. Spencer's trying to get the boat started but nothing is working. We are stranded.Scrambling to one of the benches in the side of the boat I find the life jackets we keep stored passing them around to everyone.
Spencer is yelling at us but I can't make out what he is saying. Ryan grabs my hand pulling be towards everyone else, we huddle in the corner trying not to freak out.
"Is everyone okay?!" I yell as loud as I can so they can here me over the storm. I'm meet with a bunch of thumbs up. I feel myself start to shake as my anxiety settles in. I hate storms, they scare me so much sometimes I can't breath. I feel Ryan unconsciously grab my hand and I do nothing to stop it.~~~
We've been huddling for hours but the storm still hasn't given up. It's started to calm down but the waves are still crashing onto the boat making it rock. It's hard to stand up and do anything. Spencer told us earlier that there must be a hole in the fuel tank because there is nothing left. We have no way to contact anyone and ask for help. We are in so much trouble.
The boy at suddenly lurches forward as a gigantic wave hits us. We all fall against one side as the boat starts to drift away from the spot we had just been in. Great the rope connecting the anchor to the boat must have snapped. Once this storm passes who knows where we will be.~~~
Another few hours have passed and the storm has stopped but we are now stranded in the middle of the ocean. After a vote we have decided that it can't do anymore harm to go back to sleep now that the sea is calm. I'm not tired though. Everyone is sleeping but after last night I can't. Lying down isn't much fun either so I head out to the deck. All I can see is the ocean. No matter what direction I look. There isn't any land. There isn't any other boats just us.
How are supposed to get back with no way to contact anyone?Heading to the front of the boat I notice something in the water. It looks like rubbish drifting in the ocean like us but the water is moving around it.
"Land! Guys I can see land! Guys!" Rushing inside everyone is still asleep. Sitting next to Ryan I start to shake him and slowly he starts to wake.
"What Eva?"
"I can see land!" I pull him up taking him with me stumbling towards the front of the boat. We stand at the bow and sure enough we are drifting straight towards a small island.
"Eva! That's actually land, like liveable land! I could kiss you right now!" We are so close I can feel his breath in face. I can't do this.
Stepping back I starting hitting the cabin and yelling at our friends. Ryan soon joins in as well.
"Guys wake up!"
"We can see land!"
"Guys!"
Everyone starts to come out of the cabin rubbing their eyes as they adjust to the sunlight making their way towards us.
"Oh my. That's actual land!"
"Spencer is there a way we can get the boat there faster?" I'm no boat expert, I just want to know if we can get to the land.
"Well I don't know if it will help but we could tie the dingy to the front of the boat and try to guide it there, I don't even know if it will be able to pull it but it's worth a try."
"Okay, well why don't you and Josh go get the dingy ready and we can give it a try."Spencer and Josh head of in search of everything they need. I hope this works. Maybe we aren't to far from the mainland and we can find a way to contact home. I know it's unlikely but a girl can dream.
Callie and Liam are comforting each other in the corner as they try to see what sort if supplies we have. I'm heading to see how much food we have. Most of it's junk food, you know the type of food you would take to a party where you know it's just fun. We have some non perishable food, cans of beans and stuff like that but not much.
I can see Ryan glancing at me occasionally. A year back we had a thing. It wasn't officially dating, that's why I know when I saw him making out with another girl I didn't have the right to be jealous or angry. It still broke my heart. I want to forgive him and move on but I don't think I can. Spencer tells me everyday how much Ry still cares about me and that he wanted to give me space. Surprisingly Spence was for us going out. He wanted his sister and best friend to be happy.
Ryan has stopped looking at me, instead he was walking straight towards me.
"Are you okay?" His eyes filled with concern. Those three words was all it took. I collapsed into his arms and started crying.
"Shhh," Ryan's trying to calm me down.
"Do you think we will be okay? Will we make it home?" My eyes were glassy as I stared at him, my voice quite.
Holding me closer Ryan was whispering in my ear, "of course princess. We have an amazing group of people around us to make sure of that."
Joshs head popped through the cabin.
"Sorry to interrupt but Spencer has attached the dingy to the boat so we are going to start pulling. Eva can you you stare the boat and try to do anything you can to helps us?" I was counting on Spencer and Josh, and they were counting on me.
"Sure, I'll try my best. If you guys need to stop or come in just wave at me okay?"
"Okay captain."
