Ever since Kaneki decided to join Aogiri, Ayato has caught himself staring at the white-haired ghoul multiple times. He would always jerk his head towards the opposite direction, but his gaze would eventually find its way back to Kaneki.
'I really need to stop doing this,' Ayato thought to himself. He carefully peeked around the edge of the doorway.
Kaneki was standing at the other side, making a cup of coffee. His slender hands carefully gripping the handle of the pot of hot water as he moved it in semi-slow circles. He had taken off his jacket and thrown it to the side, leaving his back exposed.
'Then again,' Ayato scanned his eyes across the ghoul's back. 'He doesn't really seem to notice...'
Kaneki shifted his head just slightly; just enough to catch Ayato out of the very corner of his eye. He kept his gaze on the coffee as he poured the water.
'Right on time,' he smiled slightly and shifted his head back. 'I wonder what he'll say if I offer some. Will he accept? I hope so.'
