Liv's Point Of View

When I entered the small apartment, I could only smell feet and body odour. It would be obvious to a blind person that the apartment was occupied by only boys. Agent Merwin waved me through the door, only an hour after being told what I am doing here.

Flashback
"Liv Gray, what an honour it is to finally meet you." The man sitting behind the desk said grabbing my hand and shaking it enthusiastically.

"I might say the same if I knew who you were." I replied, a hint of irritation obvious in my tone. Surprisingly the man didn't seem annoyed by my rudeness but grinned, the corners of his mouth turning up into a sly smile.

"I'm not surprised that you don't know who I am. My name is Daniel Merwin, I'm an agent for the Civilians Protection Unit, also known as the CPU." He clasped his hands in front of himself on his desk.

"If all you wanted was to meet me, there are surely easier ways than tracking my movements and kidnapping me from Walmart. So, why am I here?" I said copying his body language from the other end of the desk.

A look of astonishment passed his face so quickly that I was unsure if I had seen it at all. "You're a smart girl I'll give you that," I roll my eyes.

He smile grows, making me notice that he is alot older than his physique would let on. He is built like a tree but the bags under his eyes and the faint but noticeable wrinkles on his face give him away.

"I know who you are." He said his grin growing wider. I raise my eyebrows, indicating for him to go on. "You're Red Mercury." My jaw drops open. I have been so careful to ensure that no one knows who I am, only what I do. How could this man have found out, when I have hid my identity so well.

"How?" I mumble trying to wrap my head around the bomb he just dropped on me. "What do you want from me?" I ask finally, my voice now small from the sudden tightening in my chest. 

The smirk Merwin was supporting falls from his face showing the cruel and mean man hiding behind it. "How is not the important thing here, the important thing for you is that I know." If he told anyone who I am, I could be arrested or worse people that I have put in jail or families of those I have had to kill may come after me.

Finding my voice again, I slam my hand down on the table. "For the last time, what do you want from me?" I'm pissed off now, letting my anger get the best of me. I don't care that he sees me rattled or scared because someday he will be the one running.

"I have a proposition for you." Merwins horrible smile begins to grow on his lips again making his face a lot more punchable. I stay silent considering my options, hear him out and maybe keep you secret or kill him right here and now. The only problem with killing him is that I don't know what order he has given the agents standing outside the office.

Deciding that it's better to hear the 'safer' option, I finally answer. "I'm listening."

End of flashback.

"This is Liv Gray, the new member of Delta team 3." I couldn't help but wish I had a camera to take a picture of their faces, the four boys in front of me stood with their mouths agape, almost as if waiting to be spoon feed by a parent.

The team seemed to be around the same age except the beast of a man who looked as though he could be thirty. My heart jumped into my throat when the beast spoke up.

"No,no,no,no,no,no,no" all I heard after that was blah blah blah as I used every part of my body to give him the deadliest glare ever. I need to be on this team or else Agent Merwin will reveal my secret.
