Hey! So here's pt.2. Enjoy:)

Jac was glad he had agreed to a drink, they really needed to talk. Since the shooting they had become really close and she knew that he was someone she could rely on, but things changed and she realised her feelings weren't... as "friendly" as she'd thought. He was this amazing, kind and caring man but she was the opposite. So she ran. She didn't know what be else to do because, that talk he wanted to have? Holding on to him as he hugged her, his breath warm against her neck, she realised she couldn't talk to him. She couldn't look into his eyes and not spill everything because she was vulnerable. It was then that she realised that she had let her defences down for him, but if they stayed down much longer, she wouldn't be able to build them back up again when someone inevitably got hurt.
So she took Emma away and tried to forget about him. She really did try.

Jac finished up with some post-op paperwork for her most recent Kebo patient and placed it down on her desk, taking her glasses off her nose. She realised she was still in scrubs from an operation and picked out her spare clothes from the draw under her desk. She opened the door of her office and strolled down to the locker room. As she entered the locker room, she noticed Fletch was in there.
"Oh, sorry, I... ill just..."
"No its fine, I'm done anyway" Fletch grinned "See you in Albies?"
"Yeah, I'll be down in 10" she smiled back. She was beginning to think they could go back to the way they were. He left the room and she quickly got changed, letting her hair loose from the bun it had been scraped into. She took a deep breath before closing her locker and walked out of the door, grabbing her handbag on the way.

As she approached Albies, Jac began to have second thoughts. She didn't know if he'd be with other people or on his own, she didn't want to have to drag him away from the others and plus how would that look? Luckily, Jac entered the pub to see Fletch at the bar talking to Donna but as he saw her in the doorway, she got distracted by something funny Essie said and walked to the other side of the room. Fletch smiled at her.
"What can I get you?"
"I'll have whatever you're having" she said not entirely focussed on the question
Fletch took the drinks and headed towards an empty booth. Jac followed and they sat opposite each other.
"So, what did you do in your time off?"
"Oh, mainly spent time with Emma, a few day trips, pretty boring really I just... wasn't ready to come back yet."
"Yeah I understand"
"So, you were going to talk to me?"
"Yeah, okay, um. After the shooting, something changed between us. You were someone I knew I could go to if I just needed to forget about Raf, the kids and just have a laugh. You became someone I could really rely on and... I knew I wanted to be someone you could rely on too" Fletch said slowly
"You were, you... are" Jac interrupted "but I'm not good at this" she gestured between the two of them "I can't rely on people because, well people haven't generally been very reliable in the past. So when you came along, all smiles and laughs and catch me when I fall I want to trust you I really do... but it's just... difficult" Jac found it difficult to put into words what she wanted to say
"I get it" Fletch replied
"Really? Because I don't" Jac laughed
Fletch and Jac began to realise that the others started noticing them having this 'deep' conversation in the corner of the pub
"I have a feeling we're going to be hospital gossip tomorrow" Jac stated
"Do you want to go somewhere else? Somewhere less... public"
"Yeah that would probably be a better idea"

Jac and Fletch collect their things and head out of the door together, probably exacerbating the situation, Fletch realises... but who cares what anybody else thinks. This is about him, and Jac.

Another short one haha -  you've probably caught on that my chapters are not gonna be long ones as I'd rather post small ones more regularly than long ones once a month hahaha
Keep up with the lovely comments:)
