The next day, Jac was in early. She planned to sort through some of the paperwork in her office, then head up to Hanssen's office to let him know about her plans to leave. She knew she needed to tell Sacha in person so she would stop off on Keller before collecting her things.
The talk with Hanssen went better than expected. He understood where she was coming from, after all, he had been affected greatly by the shooting but he was like her and refused to show it. She closed the door of his office and sighed. One thing done, now she needed to speak to Sacha. She found him in his office, as per, at his desk.
"Jac" he announced,slightly surprised "What can I do for you"
"I'm leaving" She didn't know how else to tell him so she just said it how it was. His head dropped slightly but he smiled.
"I knew you'd outgrow this place before I did" Sacha replied, saddened at the thought of not having Jac around.
"Its for the best"
"Who are you trying to convince here?" Sacha asked quietly, aware of the unsure look on her face. "What about Fletch?" He continued
"What about Fletch?" She replied, defensively
He raised an eyebrow at her. Knowing something had happened, and also knowing that if she'd tell anyone, it was him.
"He kissed me" she said suddenly, looking down at the floor. Sacha nodded, sympathetically almost.
"Then why are you leaving?"
"Because I can't stay here! Because I'll mess things up again, you know I will! It's what I do! And because he's with Abby and I absolutely can't stand that and Emma. Emma needs a normal childhood away from all of this, just the two of us."
"You need to stay here" Sacha stood up straight and put his hands on her shoulders
"No, Sacha, I..." Jac brushed him away
"This isn't like you." Sacha frowned "You face your problems head on you don't... run away! Everything will go back to normal Jac, but you should stay here because we need each other in this hospital"
Jac's face was sad, she didn't want to leave him but she knew she had to. She reached for the door and opened it, turning around
"Goodbye Sacha"
He sighed sadly
"Bye Jac"
She pulled the door closed behind her. She was doing the right thing wasn't she? She composed herself then took the back stairs up to Darwin, the last thing she needed was an encounter with Fletch. She crossed the ward and placed her hand on door of her office but it was ajar.

Fletch knew she'd try to avoid him but he also knew that she would need to go into the hospital to get her things and tie up any loose ends and he also knew that, in any attempt to avoid him, she would go in early. So that's exactly what he did.

Jac pushed the door open and there stood the first and last person she had wanted to see. Fletch.

Ooohhh! Will Fletch persuade her to stay or does he love her enough to let her go?? I'm really enjoying writing this so who knows, the next one might be up pretty darn soon.... xxxx
