The first two classes were agonizing, Ryder ended up sitting next to me in both of them, and he was in all of my classes so far. I sighed and leaned my head on the door of my opened locker.

"What's wrong?" Izzy asked, she was in all my classes so far too, thank god for that.

"This day feels like it's dragging on forever." I said turning around to face her, she smiled and rolled her eyes.

"Well it's lunch, and this is gonna fly by, especially if we don't hurry." She said grabbing my hand and pulling me toward the cafeteria, I laughed and followed her. We both ended up getting salads and we sat together at an empty table.

"Oh, I hope you don't mind if some of my other friends sit with us, but I thought you could meet them." Izzy said as we started eating, I nodded slowly and looked around at the sea of teenagers. It was a mixed lunch, kids from each grade were here and it was pretty loud. Not gonna be fun for me when I have headaches. I looked at Izzy while she waved her hand, looking past me at the doors. I took a deep breath and sipped my tea.

"Hey Izzy." I looked up, a tall black haired boy with blue eyes was starting to sit down a seat over from her. She smiled at him.

"Hi Alec. This is Elaina, Elaina, this is Alec." She said making hand gestures. I waved slightly at him and he nodded at me. Awkward. He started to talk to Izzy but I didn't listen, I didn't want to intrude on their conversation. I noticed that Alec was wearing a lot of rings, five on his left hand and four on his right, and they all had different colored stones. He also was wearing two necklaces, which had natural cut gems as the charms. My attention was grabbed by Alec saying something, I shook my head and looked at his face but he wasn't looking at me, he was looking to his left and smiling. I turned and looked where he was and saw a cute ginger girl with eyes that looked almost purple, who was walking over to our table.

"Hi Alec, I missed you last class. Izzy! Hi!" She said smiling Alec got up and hugged her, and kissed her on the cheek and then they sat back down, the girl sitting in the seat he left between him and Izzy.

"Hi Clary, I haven't seen you at all today." Izzy said giving her a one armed hug, she smiled and looked around until she saw me.

"Oh. Who are you?" She asked confused, I glanced at Izzy who nodded.

"I'm Elaina, Izzy's friend." I said trying to sound more confident than I was feeling. She nodded and looked at Izzy. Just then the chair next to me got pulled out and spun around so it was backwards, I jumped and turned my head, then looked back down. Ryder sat on the chair, straddling it since it was backwards.

"Hey Alec, Clary. How are you guys?" He asked, his voice sounded casual. I didn't dare look up, even if he was just being grouchy earlier, it was scary.

"Pretty good, me and Alec have all our classes together, except for last class, but I'll survive." Clary said chuckling, Izzy laughed.

"Yea, it's been a pretty okay day today. We got to meet Izzy's new friend too." Alec said. I froze, I wasn't even breathing anymore. Everyone was silent and that scared me even more. I was getting lightheaded from lack of oxygen but I couldn't move.

"Yea? I got to see a face if that counts, never did catch her name though." Ryder finally said. Izzy chuckled and I started breathing again. I slightly looked up, just enough that I could see her. She opened her mouth to talk.

"She's not mute. I know that at least." Ryder said with a chuckle. I felt sick, like actually sick.

"Elaina." I said as I got up and walked out to the hall, as soon as I rounded the corner I started running to the bathroom. I quickly locked myself in a stall and puked. I spit a couple times and wiped my mouth with some toilet paper, then flushed the evidence. I put my hand on my head and sighed, now I had a killer headache and my throat hurt. I probably didn't have my voice anymore. After a couple minutes I went to the sink and washed my hands, then splashed cold water on my face and rinsed my mouth. I looked in the mirror, my eyes and nose were red and my face was pale and flushed. You could definitely tell I was just sick. I sighed and walked out into hall.
