I remember the worst wedding that I ever went to. It was two years ago. It was with my second cousin and her boyfriend of two years. They were both eighteen, so they were still young, but they didn't need their parents to consent to the marriage.
Honestly, I didn't think that their marriage was going to last long, and I was right. They were only married for a year when she cheated on him.
I totally expected something like that to happen. They were what they thought was love in high school. When they finally became legal adults they decided to do something stupid with their newfound freedom.
Now for the wedding itself.
At first it seemed decent enough. Nothing was fancy and it was a backyard wedding. The parents of the bride and groom refused to help pay for the wedding as they didn't approve of it, but there was nothing to do. This left the couple to pay with what little money they had from their little after-school jobs.
All of the invitations were hand written and the backyard didn't look like a disaster. The dresses and tuxes didn't look like the mess that I expected. The food wasn't terrible even though it was just some grilling done by the bride and the groom.
However, there were tons of teenagers there. They all buzzed with the excitement of seeing two of them getting married. You could tell that the adults didn't want to be there, but felt like they had to.
The music was also awful. It was a bunch of pop music that didn't suit the occasion at all. All of the teenagers were dancing and grinding. Some of them were even drunk on the alcohol that they snuck in.
The moment you walked into the backyard you could see what he couple blew most of their money one. There were two screens and two projectors. On the screens there was an image of a phone screen. On the bride's side, the phone looked onto an empty conversation with the groom, and on the grooms side, the phone looked onto an empty conversation with the bride.
Everyone was confused as to what the screens were for. From some of my eavesdropping I was able to gather that most people were murmuring about what they think the screens were for.
When the bride started to walk down the aisle, a version of the "Here Comes the Bride" song that was made into pop music played.
Instead of carrying flowers the bride was holding a phone and looking down at it. That is when I realized that the groom also had a phone out and that was all he was looking at.
The bride and the groom never looked at each other and they never put down their phones.
They said their vows by texting and the messages showed up on the screen. The newlyweds didn't even kiss; they sent the kissing face emoji.
All in all, it was the worst wedding that I've ever been to.

A/N:
Hello my lovely readers! I know that this chapter sucks and isn't what I usually write, but I had this lovely, awful idea and just had to write it so here we are! I have another idea for a chapter, but I haven't written it, and I won't until I feel like it, sooooo...
I am currently working on two actual books. One is in the works of the first draft, but I haven't really worked on it lately. This one is realistic fiction and has gone through a lot to get to the point that it is at now. I will post it when I have finished writing and editing it. The other book isn't really a book yet. I am currently creating the world in which it takes place in while I try to come up with a storyline. Like the other book, I will post it once I have finished writing and editing it.
Thanks for reading! Until next time! ;)
